First Chapter, First Paragraph, Tuesday Intros/Teaser Tuesdays - November 17th

It's Tuesday!  It's time to share your excerpts and teasers from books we are currently reading, have read or are planning to read.  So, feel free to join us by sharing the first paragraph or (a few) of a book you are reading or thinking about reading soon.  This meme is guaranteed to increase your TBR :)

Please link your blog post using Mr. Linky below. Make sure the link you enter is the direct link to your Tuesday post, not the main link to your blog. Thank you!

I, also, participate and link up to Teaser Tuesdays.  Here's info about that meme:

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, now being hosted by Ambrosia at The Purple Booker. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

* Grab your current read

* Open to a random page

* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

I've been wanting to read this one.  I enjoyed the first two books in the series.

First Chapter...

"How do you suppose he can work with all this noise?"  I nodded over the rim of my coffee cup at the guy sitting at one of the larger tables in my cat cafe, JJ's House of Purrs.  "He hasn't even looked up from that computer, even when it sounded like they were taking down the wall right next to him.    I mean, I'm glad he's here drinking our coffee and eating our pastries, but wow.  That's some concentration."

Teaser...

And my cat JJ had gotten even more press, which delighted me to no end.  He'd had his own profile in the Chronicle, and to everyone's delight, the Boston Globe had even run a short piece on the cafe in their Sunday edition, with JJ in the featured photo.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Welcome back to the charming New England coast, where Maddie James’s cat café is at risk of becoming a crime scene for the purrfect murder. . .

Maddie is hoping to have some downtime during Daybreak Island’s off-season to tackle her to-do list. Her grandfather’s house-turned-cat-café is under construction and she’s also scoping out places to open a juice bar on the island. On top of that, her relationship with adorable dog groomer Lucas has taken a pawsitive turn. But easy is getting harder every day for Maddie, especially when a big-name writer who’s on the island working on a new project winds up floating in the canal. This, on the exact same day an eccentric woman shows up at the cafe claiming Maddie’s cat, JJ, is hers. As the investigation into the dead writer picks up, Maddie realizes that even the neighbors she’s known all her life might be keeping secrets that go deep into the heart of this small seaside town. Meanwhile, a killer remains at-large...and on the prowl.

What do you think? Would you keep reading?

  2. Cute cover! I hate noise and, thus the intro makes me wonder what's up?
