Anything Goes on Saturday - Series Books
This is a new meme called "Anything Goes on Saturday". It's a chance to choose any topic you want and talk about it on Saturday - it can be about a book, TV show, movie, a recipe or just an update on your week. Whatever you choose.
If you'd like to join in, take the button above and blog about it. Use the linky below to post your direct link to your post. Then, go and visit other blogs and see what's on everyone's minds this week. Enjoy!
This week I'm thinking about series books. I've always liked books that continue. I think it's because I love to get to know characters and watch them grow. Sometimes I can get a bit annoyed when I don't know a book is part of the series and the first one I read is in the middle somewhere. I absolutely become anal about it and have to start with the first book in any series, even if they are advertised as being standalone books.
Here are some of my favorite series books...
Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove Series
Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series
James Patterson's Women's Murder Club series
Shirley Rousseau Murphy's Joe Grey series
Rita Mae Brown's Mrs. Murphy series
Plus there are all the cozy mystery series that I love to read. Returning to these books makes me feel like I'm spending time with old friends. Currently, I'm reading the Alex Cross series by James Patterson, but I'm only up to the second book and this series has been going on for years.
It's funny, but as much as I love series books, I have more unfinished series than I do finished or "caught up on" series. I jump around alot. LOL
Do you like reading series books? Which ones?

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!
After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.
Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.
Series books are my favorite! My favorite series is the Prey Series by John Sandford. You should check out fictfact.com. It is a great website to help you keep track of your series....
ReplyDeleteNice feature :)
ReplyDeleteI do love a good series, like the Plum ones, even if I am not to happy about it, I still love it still
I do enjoy series. I read the first 4 of Patterson's Women's Murder Club many years ago and have recently won some of the newest in the series. Am thinking of buying the collection and starting from #1 since it was so long ago and don't remember anything about them. My all time favorite series, however, is "The Left Behind Series"
ReplyDeleteI like the Debbie Macomber and Evanovich series, I also like Sue Grafton's Alphabet series. I like Mariah Stewart's The Chesapeake Diaries series, and I also like Lilian Jackson Braun's books about The Cat Who...
ReplyDeleteI'm not much into series books....I just read all over the place. I like reading books by Jodi Picoult, James Patterson to name just a couple.
ReplyDeleteI am anal about reading series in order too! I love 'em. You mention a couple of my favorites - Cedar Cove, Woman's Murder Club and Stephanie Plum. I also love the In Death, Eve Duncan, Bloody Jack (YA), Alex Cross, Temperance Brennan and Alex Cooper series as well!
ReplyDeleteGreat discussion question, Yvonne. I do enjoy series books, although I haven't read that many. One series I love is The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series. I've read most of the books, and have also seen the films. Happy Saturday! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I love series too as you can really get to know the characters and it's like visiting old friends! The Cedar Cove series and In Death/Eve Dallas series by Nora Roberts are two of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite series are the Twilight and HP books. I have started the Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants books a while ago and would like to finish those one day. Maybe this summer.
