The Weekend Review - May 23rd-25th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Weekend Everyone!

I hope those of you with a three day holiday weekend are enjoying it.  Nothing special going on here.  Although more and more things are open here, we are taking it easy and staying close to home for now.  We are seeing family in the area though.

As regular TV shows dwindle down, I guess I'm getting more reading done.  I finished two books this week, which is good for me.  Hopefully that will keep increasing.

I did watch the second season of Dead to Me on Netflix.  I still have the last episode to watch.  That went pretty fast.

I've been listening to a cozy mystery while walking and still finding it difficult to concentrate on an audiobook.  I will keep trying, but I think it's a lost cause for me.

I have many blog tours coming up next week.  Mostly spotlights.  I picked up more freebies for my Kindle.  I have no idea when I'll get to read them, but everything looks so good I can't resist.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and a great week!   Stay safe!

Yvonne

  2. I'm watching Dead To Me also. I'm finding that my eyes are getting blurry as I've been reading most of my books online. I will have to change to Audio books! I just finished American Dirt which was a intriguing but difficult read

  4. I wish I'd realized that The Good Place was on NBC so I could have watched the last season. Oh well. I will wait for it to come to Netflix. Hopefully it will.

Paris is Always a Good Idea looks great. I will add that one to my wish list.

I love all the great freebies that seem to be out there now. Lots of wonderful books for 1.99 and 2.99, too.

  7. My county is open, but I’m staying home because we still have 600+ COVID cases. Going to the mall isn’t worth the risk for me. Have a great week!

  9. I got a couple of those freebies too. The freebies are hard to resist. Maybe you could join Anne @ Books of My Heart and I for Thrifty Thursday where we read the freebies we pick up. :)

No plans here for the weekend though my state is slowly re-opening. I have a ton of reviews to write and I may venture out to pick up a hamburger.

    Have a good weekend!

  10. I am bingeing on Lucifer right now, which I am thoroughly enjoying, though I'm aware that once we get to the end of Series 3, we can't get hold of Series 4... I hope the coming week is a peaceful, healthy one for you, Yvonne:)

  11. I hope you do keep up an audio book! I mostly listen only when I am walking and if my mind wanders I don't mind too much as usually I can link in again.
