The Weekend Review - February 22-24th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to Stacking the Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

I can't believe we are heading into the last week of February.  Two months have already gone by in 2025.  I'm already behind on my reading.  How did that happen?  Who knows?  I have no excuses.

I only finished one book this week.  Maybe next week will be better.  I haven't even been watching much TV so I can't really say where my time is going.  I did have a bit of blog stuff to do.  Maybe that's where my time went.

I had good news about my physical therapy.  If all goes well, this coming week should be the last of it.  I'll have two more sessions and they will give me a bunch of exercises to continue at home.  I'm happy about that.

I treated myself to a stroll through Barnes & Noble today.  It's the first time I've been to a real bookstore in ages.  I'm totally converted to e-books and have been for years so I never go there.  It's less than 5 minutes from my house and I was in the shopping center so I decided to go in.  The smell of new books hit me as soon as I walked inside the door.  I used to love visiting bookstores.  I didn't buy anything, but it was fun to browse.

Not much else is going on around here.  I hope you all have a great week!

Next on my list to read ...

I still have to go through my March books.  These are what's left from February, and they will probably carryover to March.

Here is this week's Kindle freebie haul.  They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying. The prices change quickly.

  1. I love bookstores, but on the same note, I got a notice from my library that I hadn't borrowed anything in a long time :O My books to read are usually online nowadays ;) Glad physical therapy has been successful!

  2. I love how Barnes & Noble smells. I haven't been to Barnes & Noble in years because we don't have one around here. I miss it.

  3. My husband is glad our nearest bookstore is too far to drop in at (it’s about 100km away), and he can’t see what I download LOL

Wishing you a happy reading week

  5. For Valentine's Day, my husband and I visited a bookstore. I had a lovely time wandering through the store and I ended up buying three books.

Great news about your physical therapy!

  6. I don't go into real bookstores much either, but I do admire your self-control, or "shelf" control for not buying anything!

  7. Thrilled to hear the PT has gone well. I like the smell of bookstores and libraries but I don't go places I don't need to go these days. Happy reading!

  9. I am pretty much exclusively reading on an e-reader these days. If I do go to a store it is to get something I already know I want!

    Have a great week.

  10. Great the physical therapy has helped. I do enjoy a bookstore. I read on Kindle but I usually alternate actual print with Kindle!

  11. I love bookshops for a browse too although my son is a whirlwind so we literally walk in and then walk out pretty instantly 😂

I don't know where time goes either, I should have read over half a book with the time that I had but instead I've only read a quarter 🤷🏼

    Have a great week!

  12. Glad to hear that your physical therapy is going well and is almost over. I can't remember the last time I was in a bookstore. I'm also nearly 100% digital in my reading. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.
