My Review

Meredith Hansel has it all - two beautiful children, a loving husband and a successful career on Wall Street.  Suddenly it all falls apart when one of her closest associates starts threatening her and her family. She is forced to get a restraining order.

The threats continue, leaving Meredith desperate to figure out why this is happening. To add to her troubles, her marriage is failing, her teenage daughter is having problems in school, and her house is vandalized.

Meredith is determined to figure out why her life is being turned upside down. She won’t let anyone destroy her family or her career.

This is a corporate thriller set to the backdrop of the financial world of Wall Street. At first I was a bit confused about the intricacies of the financial world.  I’ve never been involved in it and have no real knowledge of it, but the author did explain things very well and goes deep into the workings behind Wall Street.

Each character is well-developed and felt realistic.  My heart went out to Meredith as she faced betrayal from all sides - both work and at home. She is a strong character, though, and doesn’t back down.  Meredith, as well as the reader, didn’t know who could be trusted. It felt as if everyone was involved in some aspect of the drama.

I do love suspense and mystery, and this is a good one. I was hanging on each word.  I didn’t want to miss a thing. I’ll definitely be looking for more books by this author.

  1. This one sounds very complex. It might be nice to peek behind the scenes of the investment world, too.
