Friday Book Snippets - September 25th

 



Book Beginnings on Friday and Friday 56 are now combined into one blogging event.  It is hosted by Olivia @ Bemused & Bookish and Anne @ Head Full of Books.  The directions are to post two snippets. One is from the beginning of the book and the second is from page 56 or any other page of the book you are currently reading. 


I'm listening to the audiobook of this one:





Beginning:

I gripped the armrests of my seat as the jet accelerated down the runway with a roar of its engines. The plane lifted into the air like an eagle in flight. 

Second Snippet - From chapter one...

I gave her a weak smile. After all my heartbreak, the thought of dating anyone made my stomach curl.

My thoughts...

I got this as a freebie audio book from Chirp. I've been enjoying it so far. It reminds me a bit of books by Susan Mallery, Mary Kay Andrews and Debbie Macomber.

    Isn’t it awesome when a freebie turns out to be so enjoyable? I have a Kindle / Nook / NetGalley digital library full of freebies or less than $2.00 books, and some have turned out to be some of the best books I’ve read all year.

      Yes! I'm pleasantly surprised at how good all some of the freebies are. Some are better than others, of course but I've been lucky and enjoying them.

    The cover definitely reminds me of Susan Mallery. I'm glad to see you're enjoying this! It looks like a good read/listen.
