The Weekend Review - November 30th-December 2nd

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Weekend!

Hello December!  The last month of the year and I still need to read 24 more books to complete my Goodreads challenge.  Not going to happen!  Oh well...I've managed to complete it each year and I always set my goal at 100.  I'm putting the blame on my move this year...that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!  LOL  I'll just get ready to try again in 2020.

I set up the three reading challenges I host each year for 2020.  Now, I have to make my rounds and join other challenges - mainly the ones I traditionally join.  I'll see if there's anything else I want to add to my list.

Thanks to all the TV shows airing their fall finales, I'm all caught up on my TV viewing.  I can now concentrate on reading and not watch so much TV.  I have so many good looking books on my list to read in the next month or so.  Oh there is one show I've been catching up with on Amazon Prime - The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.  What a good show.  It's set in the 1950's which I love watching as well as reading about.

I'm still slowly getting used to my new home.  It's just so different.  I've been a New Yorker all my life, so moving to Florida has been a big change.  It will take awhile, but I'll get there :)

This week was my birthday and I got a new Fitbit.  I got the Versa and I'm loving it.   It was also Thanksgiving here in the US and we had a chance to celebrate with family now that we moved closer to everyone.  So, that was nice.

So, what has your week been like?  Hope everyone has a great week!

Yvonne

  1. I think you have an excellent reason for not finishing your challenge. Moving would do me in. In fact, I'd count it for at least two years.

I bet it is different living in Florida than in New York. I hope you are able to find the charms of Florida and that they provide a good substitute for the charms of New York.

    Happy birthday!

  2. The year is flying by! I think moving takes awhile to figure things out whether it is across country or across town. Have a lovely week and happy reading!

  3. Given that house moving is the third major life trauma we experience, then I think you are well within your right to give it as a major reason for not completing this year's reading challenge. I hope the coming week is a peaceful one full of books

  4. The Last Affair looks good.

I blame my move and lifestyle changes for my poor reading for the year...but I also stopped participating in the Goodreads Challenge.

Enjoy your week and your month. Are you getting settled in?

  7. My secret reading goal was 100, but that’s not going to happen. I’ll just have to be happy wherever I end up. I hope you have a good week!

  8. I know I made my Goodreads challenge but I need to update it so it will show that. I have to add the physical books I read. Happy Birthday! Mine was last week:)

  9. My reading slacked off in November, though I'm hoping for an end-of-year comeback! I always love the covers of cozies.

  10. A goal is a goal! I am not going to finish some of my challenges for the first time this year. I think in a way that's good because otherwise its just a push for the sake of it.

  11. Happy late birthday! I think you have a legit excuse. Moving from New York to Florida is a big move. Reading would have been the last thing on my mind.
    Have a great week!

  12. I've revised my Goodreads goal twice and I think I might just make goal #3 though it's still iffy. 2019 has not been a reading year and I'm surprised you got any reading done while moving. That's such an energy and time suck. Hope you have a great week!

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.

Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.
