My Review

Cruise ship magician, Olivia Morgan, is excited to be spending Christmas on the ship.  She is busy planning a Christmas theme show which will include her parrot, Chico.  Olivia is stunned and happy when she checks the passenger list and finds her mother on it.  She is determined to make this a cruise to remember.

The last thing Olivia planned for was theft.  Several passengers found their jewelry was missing, including a sentimental necklace given to her mother by her late father.  Olivia and her friends vow to find the missing items and bring the thief to justice.

I adore this series.  It’s a quick read which left me with a “feel good” feeling.  This series is like potato chips - you can’t just stop at one. I went back and forth trying to figure out who was guilty of the crime.  I was surprised at who it turned out to be.

Olivia is surrounded with a wonderful cast of characters.  I especially enjoyed getting to know her mother.  It gave the reader a chance to better understand their relationship.  Olivia's fellow co-workers, also, add life to this story.

It is unique to have a cozy mystery book without a murder involved, although not unheard of.  It worked really well with this one.  The storyline is a nice mix of romance with mystery.

Even though the mystery is contained in this book, I highly recommend starting this series from the beginning.  It gives the reader a chance to learn Olivia's history and how she got to this point in her life.  For me, it was like visiting with old friends.  I’m very much looking forward to my next sailing with Olivia and her crew.

  1. It sounds good and as hot as it is, Christmas in July would be refreshing.
