She dragged her gaze to meet Lugowski's. It had taken over an hour for her to find the nerve to call him. He could sense her fear, see her trepidation. He was waiting for an explanation.
Okay, I called him here, it's time to quit lollygagging, out with it.
"Shane has been kidnapped," she blurted out.
