First Chapter Tuesdays/Teaser Tuesdays - September 6th

Every Tuesday Diane at Bibliophile By the Sea hosts First Chapter First Paragraph Tuesday Intros, where we share the first paragraph or (a few) of a book we are reading or thinking about reading soon. Care to join us?

If you'd like to play along on Teaser Tuesdays, just click the button above.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week I'm reading...

First chapter...

Did Jane just say "police station?"

"What did you say?" Cora Chevalier said, then typed on her laptop: Every detail - from the mundane cleaning of the chestnut floors and ordering of broom straw and beeswax, to crafting centerpieces and designing class curriculums - has been attended to.

No wait - attended to? Was the right?

"Cora!" Jane said, bringing her attention back to the voice on the phone.

"I'm sorry, Jane," Cora said, turning away from her computer. "Writing about our first craft retreat takes more focus than blogging about crafting paper lanterns or making bird feeders out of old teacups and saucers. I'm in the zone. Bue you have my full attention now. Did you say you're at the police station?"

Teaser....

Why was Jane at the police station? What was going on? It was odd that she couldn't get away to pick up her daughter from school.

What do you think? Would you keep reading?

  7. I had to giggle a little at how Cora was typing up something about a craft retreat while Jane was telling her about something that led to her being at the police station.

    Sounds like fun!

    Here's mine: “THE SISTER”
