Sunday/Monday Posts - August 13th and 14th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now a Facebook group.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Weekend Everyone!

I've been away for the week enjoying a nice vacation with my husband.  We had a nice time in New Jersey in Atlantic City, Wildwood, and Cape May.  We had beautiful weather and enjoyed walking the board walk and the cute town of Cape May.  Very relaxing time and I even had a chance to read a few books.  The bad thing is not writing my reviews right away.  I like to write them right after I finish a book so everything is still fresh in my mind.  It takes me a little longer when I've already read other books.  Does that happen to the rest of you?  Do you have to write reviews right after you finish a book?

Fortunately, I was able to pre-schedule some blog tours and I have a few scheduled for next week. August and September seem to be busy blog tour months for me.

I'm still binge watching on Netflix.  I'm enjoying Nurse Jackie and Shameless.  I finished watching Wentworth last week.  What a great show.   I was happy to see Ray Donovan return on Showtime last week.  Ozark is another show I'll be binging on when I finish the others.  I still haven't finished watching Orange is the New Black and Bloodline.  I have to get back to those, too.

Now, I've been busy trying to catch up on emails and blogging.  So, what has your week been like? Read or watch anything good?  Hope you all have a great week!

Yvonne

  1. I'm still trying to find a good series on tv after we have (almost) come to the end of Big Bang.

  2. I've been binge watching Grace & Frankie. Don't know what I'll watch yet. My son keeps saying I should watch The Ranch.

  3. I loved Wentworth, too, and another new favorite was Ozark. I finished the first (and only season so far) very quickly.

I should watch Nurse Jackie. I saw it all on Showtime, but it would be nice to see everything in a "binge."

I also have to write my reviews immediately after...or the next morning, if I finish late at night. I can't start reading anything else, or the details will leave me. However, when I went on vacation last summer, I wrote them upon my return. Since I took notes while reading, it wasn't too bad.

Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  6. Glad you had a nice vacation! I know how you feel about not writing the reviews right away. When I was in the Philippines for three weeks I tried to make small notes on the books but I still had a hard time trying to write all the reviews so they ended up being very short and ramblely...lol.

I see some books on your reads list that are on mine. :)

Have a great week and happy reading!

  7. Sounds like a fun time. I'm curious about Ozark and am interested in what you thing. I do better with reviews when I write them right away too. This doesn't happen too often though.

  9. I often review weeks after I finish reading. I know it's no good but sometimes it doesn't work any other way. It helps to jot down notes...

  13. Sounds like you've had a really nice vacation! I have trouble writing reviews way after I've read the book - especially if I've read other books in between. If I'm going to be out of town I'll bring a notebook and write down a couple of things about the book I want remember and that seems to help a lot because it gives me a place to start. I haven't watched Nurse Jackie or Shameless but I've heard good things about them both. Have a great week!
