The Weekend Review - July 27th - July 29th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Weekend!

The weather has been a bit better but it's starting to get humid again here.  That's okay, though.  My a/c works just fine and I've been catching up on my reading :)

I was so happy because I was on hold at the library for Summer of '69 by Elin Hilderbrand and my name finally came up.  I immediately started reading it and it's as good as I hoped it would be.  Hilderbrand is always a favorite beach read for me, but this year it's unique as it's a historical book that takes place in 1969.  I was just a kid then, but I love the timeframe.

I haven't really been watching much TV now that Big Little Lies ended their season.  I'm totally behind on Grand Hotel.  I think I have 4 or 5 episodes to watch.  I'll have to refresh my memory of what it's about.  I guess I'm enjoying my books too much right now to watch TV.  Not a bad thing :)

So, what's your week been like?  Read or watch anything good?  Hope you all have a great week!

Yvonne

  1. The Perfect Son sounds frightening. I hope you enjoy it.

I'm glad that Summer of '69 arrived for you. I love reading about the sixties. I guess I need to see if I can get on the list for that one.

I don't watch tv (much) at all, in general; my reading always seems to take preference. Although I have found myself quite hooked on Poldark lately!

    Have a lovely week!

  10. I love putting a book on reserve while it is still new or even on pre-order as it is so lovely and new feeling when I get it. Enjoy the Hildebrand book, I've seen a number of readers enjoying it.
