The Weekend Review - August 26th-28th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to Stacking the Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things.  It's still a little slow-going as far as reading goes, but I'm getting there.  I didn't participate in any of the usual memes this week, but I'm hoping to be back next week.  I even picked up a few Kindle freebies.

I had a few doctor appointments this week.   Basically, they say I'm doing well.  Next week I see the surgeon and I'm hoping it will be another good report.

I found a "new-to-me" show to watched called The Way Home.  I'm watching on Peacock, but it looks like it's a Hallmark show.  I can see becoming addicted to this one after only watching one episode.

So, how has your week been?  I hope everyone has a great upcoming week!

Nothing extra this week!

I'm still reading...

I finished reading ...

Nothing this week!

These are what's left on my August list, but I need to get my September books in order.  It's hard to believe it's almost September.

Here is this week's Kindle freebie haul. They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying. The prices change quickly.

  6. I'm glad to hear you're doing better. I hope you get a good report from the surgeon! The Way Home is on my Hallmark watch list. I'll watch anything that Andie MacDowell is in, she's one of my favorite actresses!

  8. Oh, I'm so happy you're doing better. May you continue on the healing path. I'm also very excited for you that you're watching The Way Home. I watched the series when it first aired on Hallmark earlier this year and I LOVED it! I don't think I've ever felt that strongly about a t.v. show before. I watched each episode as they aired each week and before the finale, I re-watched the first nine episodes (I had recorded all of them). When I watched it the second time, I picked up on things I hadn't noticed before. It's especially fun if you're watching it with at least one other person because there's so much to contemplate and discuss. Keep us posted on how you like it (or not). Have a great week! :)

  12. I'm glad to hear the feedback from the doctors has been good! Recovery is often worse than the accident or problem itself, in my experience, but I hope it continues to go in the right direction the coming weeks! The reading will come back once it does :) And I've started watching Ahsoka, a Star Wars show, which has just come out but after that finishes I'll also be on the look-out for a new show to get addicted to! I hope you have a lovely week :)

  13. It's good news that the doctors feel like you are doing well. I've been worried about you. You have been dealing with some big issues. I hope that you will continue to feel better and stronger.

    I can't believe it's almost September either!
