The Weekend Review - April 5th-7th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to Stacking the Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

The first week of April is over and we had lovely weather here in Florida.  A little windy, but lovely walking weather.

I only finished one book this week.  As hard as I try, I seem to still spend too much time online.  I have to find a way to cut myself off.  It's too much of a time waster.

I watched a few shows this week, my usual ones, Survivor, Chicago Med, PD and Fire, Fire Country and The Pitt.

Other than that, it's been pretty quiet here.  I hope you all have a great week!

  1. Like you, shows on TV are eating into my reading time! I slowly go from one book to another and sometimes skim a book to get it's main ideas. Enjoy Florida in spring.

  2. I try to stay away from social media, except blogs. It does not leave me with a happy feeling. I'm trying to do more art, music, writing, and spend time in nature.

  3. Beds, Breakfasts, and Beta Blockers - hysterical title!

  4. Oh, I hear you about spending too much time online! My daughter left me the first Vera Wong book after she finished it. I look forward to reading it when we get back to CT.

  5. I get distracted by online stuff too much too. I am really looking forward to the next Vera Wong book. I don't think any of our libraries around here (in our rural area) will have it so I'll probably have to buy it. That's okay, though. I enjoyed the first one.

  6. I really want to watch The Pitt. I've really loved the clips I've seen of it. I enjoyed the Vera Wong book - not quite as much as the first but it was still really good. Have a great week!

  7. I too spend too much time online! I'm almost done reading Regarding The Duke by Grace Calloway. It's very enjoyable.

  8. I think it's hard to limit ourselves online. Have a great week!

  9. To go out walking, I’ve not been able to do that here. I’m trying to cut down my time online as well. It doesn’t impact the blog but I have to set boundaries. The Pitt is so good! I hate that we have to wait a whole week between episodes. Have a great week!

  10. Since we got a TV for Christmas I spend too much time on tv too. Instead of listening to an audiobook while cooking dinner I watch tv. And after dinner I knit and watch tv instead of reading. Which means instead of reading a couple hours before bedtime, I stay up later to read and sometimes sleep later in the morning. At least I've had some excellent reads! Glad your weather has been great for walking.

  11. It seems like it is always windy lately. Do you watch Bosch Legacy? That is back and pretty good.

  12. I'm sure you are glad for the quiet, whatever else is going on.

  13. If your online time is on your phone, can you set it so that it automatically limits your time on certain apps? My biggest distraction is texts and instant messages, so I've recently started using the Do Not Disturb function, except for certain people. Most other messages can wait until later. It has made a huge difference! :)

  14. My reading was down this week as well. My husband and I watched the season finale of Reacher this weekend. My daughter's into the X-Files so we started watching that again, watching an episode a night just about. I hope you long the new Vera Wong book when you read it. I am not sure when I'll get to it, but hopefully sometimes this spring or summer. I hope you have a great week, Yvonne!

  16. I'm glad your week was nice. We got more than 8 inches of snow. I've got to quit wasting so much time on Facebook Reels. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
