The Weekend Review - September 6th-September 8th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to Stacking the Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

The weather here has been pretty much the same as usual.  Sunny during the day and thunderstorms in the evenings. Humid all day long.  So, no walking and no reading outside, but that's okay.  I'm inside with the a/c on.

Another quiet week for me.  I did have an MRI - a yearly follow up - and have the results.  They were good and I get to come back in a year.  So, that's a good thing.

I finished reading two books.  I watched the season finale of Dexter: Resurrection. It was really good, and I hope it comes back for another season. I, also, watched Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. It was good, but overall, I thought this season was a disappointment.

What was your week like?  Read or watch anything good?  I hope everyone has a great upcoming week.

  1. Let me be the first to say "Yay" your MRI sad you have no problems. But does that mean you did have a problem they are keeping their eyes on? I hope it never comes back.

    1. Thank you. I have a cyst on my liver. They are watching to make sure it doesn't get any bigger. So far I have to go yearly for the MRI since everything is stable right now.

  2. We are waiting to watch Strange New Worlds until it comes to my library. In a way, it's good to know that it is not something I should be watching right now.

Glad your MRI results were good!

    1. Thank you. l know a few people that feel the same as I do about this season of SNW. It's worth watching, but not something that has to be watched immediately IMO.

  4. Yay for good MRI results and good reading. I hope the humidity goes down so you can get out and walk. It has been cooler here this week, it was 45 when I got up this morning! I am enjoying my morning walks.

    1. I think our humidity goes down in October, but it doesn't stay down for long. I would like to walk and listen to audio books though. Have a great week!

  5. Delighted to hear that your scan came back all clear, Yvonne:)). And sorry that you are still battling so much humidity - I've only realised since the fresher weather blew in how much energy I was losing due to the muggy heat. I hope the coming week is a good one.

  7. Glad everything went well for your checkup. I'm surprised it is still so hot and humid there. We cooled down about 2 weeks ago and it has been awesome.

    1. Thanks. It will probably stay this humid here. We may get a couple of cooler days in October, but basically that's how it is here (Florida).

  9. We had a horrible thunderstorm this weekend and one town had a tornado come through. Mother Nature is nasty this time of year. Glad to hear your MRI came back good. Enjoy your reading week.

    1. Tornadoes are scary. We're in hurricane season and I'm hoping it will be mild this year. I'm quite relieved about the MRI. Thanks.

  14. The Martha's Vineyard Beach and Book Club looks like some interesting reading. Was amused by the two books with Murder in the title and have the sweetest covers. Great you got good results from MRI.
