About the Book
Synopsis from Goodreads:
Millions are searching for the truth. Only she knows it's all a lie.
Rachel Holloway has built a quiet life in London. She has a daughter, a partner, and a steady job at the local paper. Then the paper launches a true-crime podcast, and their first case is the disappearance of twelve-year-old Molly Forster, missing since her family's brutal murder twelve years ago.
But Rachel knows exactly what happened to Molly. Because Rachel is Molly. She's spent years hiding from the killer who destroyed her family, and now her own podcast is about to expose her and the truth she's buried.
As the story goes viral, new evidence emerges that confirms what Rachel has known all along: The wrong man was convicted.
The real killer is still free.
And he's coming for Rachel.
My Review
Everything is going well for Rachel Holloway until she learns the newspaper she works for may go bankrupt. Her boss comes up with an interesting idea to save the day. They could air a true crime podcast revolving around a cold case.
Twelve years ago, a young girl named Molly Forster disappeared after witnessing the murder of her entire family. The podcast would be their attempt to find her. That's the last thing Rachel wants to do since she is Molly. The wrong man was arrested for the crime, but only she knows who really did it. If the truth comes out, her new life would be in danger.
It’s an interesting premise. The author has a talent for letting the reader in on the secrets but still filling the book with suspense. Each chapter gave us more insight of what happened all those years ago. There were a few times I was screaming at Rachel not to do something that seemed too risky.
This is the second book I have read by this author, and I really enjoy her writing style. I devoured this book. She is now an auto-read for me.
