Review: Her Master’s Kiss by Vivien Sparx

Genre:
Erotic Romance

Publisher:
Amazon Digital Services, Inc.

Release Date:
October 2012

Format:
E-Book

After her boyfriend dumps her and calls her boring in bed, Renee is sure the only solution is for her to become submissive. She hires an expert master, Stefan, to teacher her how to please a man. She’s certain this is the way to win back her boyfriend.

Things become hotter than hot when Renee finds herself falling in love with Stefan and totally giving herself to the exciting, erotic world of domination. Stefan, however, is not interested in loving anyone. He is dealing with his own inner emotional turmoil, but this just makes Renee more determined to be part of his life.

Talk about a steamy book! The BDSM genre is usually not for me. I wasn’t a huge fan of 50 Shades of Grey and wasn’t going to try this genre again, but the author asked if I would do a promo for this book and the 5th in the series on my blog. I did the promo but was not asked to review the book, but I did get curious. When the first book became a freebie for a few days on Amazon, I went for it. I’m so glad I did.

I loved the characters and the way they developed. With short books like this, there isn’t always time for development of any kind but the characters and plot were written to perfection. This story is much more than just sex, there’s a deeply poignant story behind Stefan’s behavior and he’s truly a tortured hero. Give me a good story and I’m hooked in any genre!

Her Master’s Kiss is the first book and I’m definitely going to be reading more.

Teaser Tuesdays/First Chapter Tuesdays - July 23rd

I've been wanting to participate in this meme for awhile, but haven't gotten around to it until now. It looks like fun. So, I'm combining it with my Teaser Tuesdays post. This one is hosted by Diane at Bibliophile By the Sea. We share the first couple of paragraphs of the book we are reading.

If you'd like to play along on Teaser Tuesdays, just click the button above.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week I'm reading...

Bud slapped the photograph onto the table in front of me as though it were a gauntlet.

"This photo showed up in my email a few days ago.  From someone I...know.  What do you read in it, Cait?  He looked grim.

I held the photo at arm's length and squinted at the blurry image.  I could make out two women, both with dark, curly hair.  They were smiling.

I felt my multi-purpose right eyebrow shoot up as I asked, "Is just one of them dead, or both of them?"

My Musing...

This week, I'm going with

Instead of the above questions, maybe you just want to ramble on about something else pertaining to books -- let's hear it, then! :D

Like most of you out there, I have a ton of blog tours and review requests, as well as a real life to deal with too.  So, how do you all organize and keep track of what needs to be reviewed?

I've tried everything and still things fall through the cracks.  I tried a calendar, which I actually do look at each weekend, and then I try to pre-schedule tour posts for the week.  Besides tours, I also get review requests.  I've been making a list of books to review and trying to put them on my calendar as close to their release date as I can, but it never seems to work out right.

What do you do?  Do you use a calendar?  A computer program?  How do you keep all of these things straight and are you able to stick to a schedule?

I've even made a list of books I want to read during one particular month, but something always comes up and seems to push those back a month or even longer (Unless they are scheduled for a specific date for a tour.)

Obviously, I have to cut back on the tours and reviews, which I'm doing but I still have a long list of books I need to read.  I'm just trying to get a handle on it, catch up and then get some type of order going so this doesn't happen to me again.

Any ideas?
