This week’s musing asks…
How many books do you read in a week? Month? Year?
My answer...
I can usually do at least one a week, maybe two. If I include audios, I can red between 6 and 8 month. I try for 100 a year, but often I'm in the 80 range. Although this year I should make it to 100 with no problem. It's hard to read as much as I'd like with a full time job. I guess when I retire I'll be able to read more, but that day is looking further and further away :(

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!
After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.
Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.

Great answer! It's tough trying to really figure out how much we read when it changes so often. My number definitely fluctuates! :)
ReplyDeleteHere's mine:

I started to keep track of how many books I read this year (2011). It's the first year I ever kept track. If I worked full time I would never read as many as I do now.
ReplyDeleteThis year is shaping up to be less than last year, but there is 25 more days to go! ;)
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking that I don't read enough! I could make reading more books a goal for 2012.
ReplyDeleteHi Yvonne,
ReplyDeleteI have never really kept track of how many books I read, as I think that if I was keeping a running total and felt in my own mind that I wasn't reading enough, then I would feel pressured to read more books, more quickly.
This would be bad for me, because I would then find myself skimming pages, rather than reading them thoroughly word for word, which is what I like to do.
The main reason for not adopting the strategy of reading more quickly, would simply be that it would not be so enjoyable. Reading for me is a hobby and should be savoured and enjoyed as such.
Since I started blogging one thing has become blatantly obvious, I do tend to read much more slowly and less often than many of my fellow bloggers, who manage to get reviews out on a seemingly daily basis. I am always conscious therefore, that my blog may not have the varied content and as many regular updates as others ... oh well! Less writing and back to the reading!!
Yvonne
I aim for 100 per year but never make it past the 60's
