Sunday/Monday Posts - January 18th and 19th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now a Facebook group.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

An extremely slow and quiet week.  I didn't complete any books.  It's nothing against any of the books.  I just haven't been reading much.  I think I'm in a reading slump...blah...I hate those.  Eventually I'll snap out of it, but it's annoying.

I've been watching a lot of my TV shows (which could explain the reading slump - LOL) and we've been watching DVDs.

Hopefully this will be a better week for reading.  It's a three day weekend and that always helps.  The next blog tours I have scheduled aren't until the end of the month.  I tried to keep things light and I just hope I can continue this throughout the year.  Of course my idea to keep it light was so that I would read more but that doesn't seem to be happening.  LOL

So, how has your week been?  Read or watch anything good?

I hope everyone has a great week and read many great books!

Yvonne

  1. I had a weird week too book wise. I listened more but I think it was because I wasn't completely connecting with the book on my nook. Avoidance issues. TV can distract me..I hope you were watching something good and that your reading slump passes quickly.

  2. I've been in a slump too, or more it's not knowing what to read next I guess. I've been reading some... it's been slow here too. Hope your weekend is nice.

  5. I can relate--I'm also watching more than reading, but like you, I know it's only temporary.

  6. I downloaded the next audiobook in OUTLANDER, A BREATH OF SNOW AND ASHES. These are so good it makes me want to do nothing but listen. Then I noted that so many of my recent reviews are audio. Funny when a year ago I couldn't figure out what to do while i listened.

  7. I go through phases where I'm in more of a book mood than a TV mood and vice versa. I"m sure it will pass soon plus there's so many good shows going on right now! Have a great week!

  8. I've seen All Fall Down around the blogosphere and Gooseberry Island looks good. Love the cover of both. I have reading like crazy and I always watch TV, sort of, at the same time. I hate reading slumps, but they happen to me too. I just move on to something else until it passes. Have a great weekend.

  9. I loved All Fall Down...hope you do, too, and I seem to be watching more TV than usual, probably since some of my shows are back. But others I love, like The Good Wife, seem to be on a mini-break.

I saw Gone Girl from On Demand this week, and loved it as much as the first time I saw it.

Have a great week...and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  11. I was in a slump around the holidays, and then started reading but now reviewing, but now I think I am back on track thanks to using holiday gift money to buy some brand new titles I was craving. Hope you get your reading mojo back soon!

  12. Sorry you're in a reading slump. I'm reading a lot right now. But also watching a lot of Netflix and DVD's too. Watching American Horror Story from the beginning right now. LOL

  13. LOL Fewer tours means more TV time and more reading time. :)

I've been watching a lot too but I can, and do, read while I watch. I hope you're enjoying A Killer Retreat.
