Sunday/Monday Posts - January 4th and 5th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now a Facebook group.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy 2015!  The first Sunday/Monday post of the year!  Is everyone's year off to a good start?  Well, of course the year is only four days old so it might be a bit early to tell yet :)

I decided to read a book that's been on my Kindle for a year waiting for me.  It's called Christmas on Mimosa Lane by Anna DeStefano.  She's a "new-to-me" author and it's the first book in the city.  I think I was originally attracted to the cover.  It's so pretty and the book is good too :)  After I finish this one, then it's a tour book for me which looks good by Christa Nardi.  Since I was having a hard time listening to the audio of Gone Girl, I decided to stop listening and just wait to read the book.  So, now I'm listening to Yes, Please by Amy Poehler.  Much more enjoyable and easier to listen to.

It's been a quiet week for me, but work starts again on Monday so things will start getting crazy again.  I hope to be able to read as much, if not more, than I did last year but who knows what the year will bring?

I hope everyone has a great week and read many great books!

What was your week like? What are you reading this week?

  1. Nice line up of books to start the new year off with, Yvonne. Enjoy!

    My recap:

  2. I have enjoyed 2015, so far. Work starts again tomorrow which may change my opinion. ;-) Come see what I got here. Happy reading!

  3. That cover on In Hot Water is different. It feels like a middle grade book to me just from that - maybe younger, since it makes me think of Thomas the Tank Engine.
My husband returns to work tomorrow too. I will miss him being home everyday. It's almost been like what it will be like when he retires. Almost. My Sun Post:

  4. In Hot Water looks tempting...enjoy all of your books, and thanks for sharing.

I hope you like reading Gone Girl...I am not one for audio, but lots of people enjoy it. I think I'd have a hard time following it...I'm more of a visual person.

  5. Looking forward to your take on Yes Please. Ugh..yes I go back to work on Weds. I have been off since before will be Hope the New Year brings you lots of delightful surprises!

  6. It looks like you got a good list of book there for you to read. I am in my first book of 2015. Though I am going to be working on reading more today once I get some other things done for my blog and Pintest. If you have the time, would you please vote in my poll: to help me out with get ready to work on the Level Banners.

  7. I love the look of all your books. I'll porbably be breaking my promise to myself and loading up on some of these and it's only a few days into the new year. LOL
    Here's my Sunday Post -

  8. Happy New Year! Your books all look good, and I've always enjoyed Amy P. I bet that is a fun one. Have a great week :)

  9. Thanks for including In Hot Water!

  10. Christmas on Mimosa Lane has such a pretty cover. Starting the new year with an old book sounds good to me.

    Happy New Year!

  11. I'm almost through Yes, Please - have thoroughly enjoyed it, though it was nothing that I expected! Can't wait to hear your thoughts. I bet hearing Amy read it is even that much better.

  12. I started Yes Please in ebook from but it had to go back to the library before I got very far. I really enjoyed what I read and I was thinking about getting it in audio form next time. Hope you're enjoying it! Have a great week!

  13. I loved In Hot Water. I just finished writing my review and am wishing I had the next story in my hands. My husband is trying to read Gone Girl right now and says he can't get into it. Maybe we will try to movie together, lol
