Book Beginnings on Fridays/The Friday 56 - October 19th

This is a fun meme to do hosted by Freda's Voice. If you'd like to join on the fun go to The Friday 56.

*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader.
*Find any sentence that grabs you.
*Post it.
*Link it here.

It's that simple.

I'm also joining in Book Beginnings on Friday. It's hosted by Rose City Reader.

I just started reading this one. This is from the E-ARC I'm reading...

I opened the envelope and read the enclosed invitation. After the import of it sunk in, I balled up the stiff card and threw it across the kitchen. I muttered a curse to myself. Diesel, my Main Coon cat, saw this action as an invitation to play.

  1. Seems like a fun read! Happy weekend!

  2. I enjoyed this one. I hope you do too. This week I'm featuring Leverage in Death by J. D. Robb - the latest in the series. Happy reading!

  3. I love that cover and the excerpt. Thanks for sharing, and I'm late today, but having fun. Here's mine: “BITTER ORANGE”

  4. Cozy reads are always perfect for this time of year. Happy reading and have a lovely weekend!

  5. Sounds like my cats. I'm on a cozy mystery kick right now. Susan is featuring a Great America Read novel at Girl Who Reads

  6. All I needed to see was the cover and I am interested. :)

  7. Awww! I love the snippet! Sounds like a perfect read for the holidays. Enjoy! :)

  8. Of course the cat took it as an invitation to play. They always do. Hope it is an enjoyable as it sounds.

  9. Great cover, and my cats would take that as an invitation to play also.
