The Weekend Review - May 25th-27th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Weekend!

For those with a three day holiday weekend, I hope you are enjoying it.  Here it's the unofficial start of summer and it sure feels like it.  It feels like we went from a cold spring to a warm summer quickly, but it's been a beautiful weekend so I'm not complaining :)

I haven't been able to post as much as I used to and, hopefully, that will change in the near future.  For now, I do have many blog tours scheduled for June and July but they are mostly spotlights. Although I do have a few with reviews.  I need to catch up with my NetGalley E-ARCs and some other author requests.  Mainly, I'm cutting back quite a bit.

I've been able to catch up on many of my TV shows especially since most had their season finales.  I do love the three Chicago shows - Med, Fire and PD.  The bad thing about the season finales airing now is that I will never remember where we left off when September gets here (or in some cases the next episode won't be until January).

This weekend I'm relaxing.  After that, I go back to downsizing and clearing stuff out of the house.  I hope you all have a great week!

Yvonne

These books are coming up for reviews and/or blog tours in the next couple of months:

  1. Clever mystery book titles always give me a laugh. There is seemingly no end to the witty puns writers find.

I hope you are able to blog more in the future. I was always frustrated when my work and/or life schedule limited my blogging.

    Have a great week!

  4. I never watch the season finale until right before the next season premiere starts. It's kind of a weird habit! I'm so curious about the Peg Cochran book. It looks entertaining. Have a great week!

  5. I'm just about on top of my NetGalleys at the moment (famous last words!) because there haven't been so many I've wanted to grab. I still seem to need way more blogging and reading time than I actually have though. Sounds like it's the same for you?

  7. I'm getting ready to read Drowning Lessons. I love that cover! Summer is so busy around here and I do fill in my blog posts with more spotlights and giveaways. I need some time to unwind and enjoy the pool! LOL

  8. The Perfect Son and One More Lie look like fantastic reads! I remember watching a bunch of episodes from Chicago Fire. I actually think I finished the first season and then forgot to continue.

I think getting on top of ARCs is always on a book blogger's to-do list.

  14. Our spring in AZ has been ridiculously cool. (Apparently my parents up near Prescott even saw snow this past week.) It's making me a little scared of summer...

  15. I am ready for summer Yvonne. I am loving the clever titles on the cozy mysteries. All of our shows wrapped up too, but some new ones are coming for summer.

  20. I remember when they use to repeat the entire season of shows during the summer (this was before VCRs or any recording devices) so that you could watch shows that you missed during the fall and winter. It was also great for remember what happened in the season finale because it was almost always a huge cliff hanger. Summer is difinitely here is the south - we've have 90+F this week. You have some great looking books on your list. See what I read at Girl Who Reads
