First Chapter Tuesday/Teaser Tuesday - November 12th

Every Tuesday Vicki at I'd Rather Be At the Beach hosts First Chapter First Paragraph Tuesday Intros, where we share the first paragraph or (a few) of a book we are reading or thinking about reading soon. Care to join us?

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, now being hosted by Ambrosia at The Purple Booker. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This is the next book I'll be reading...

First Chapter...

Life in paradise. Like the past four months of Sunday mornings, I stood submerged in the Caribbean Sea as far down as my shoulders, hanging onto the ladder off the back of a large catamaran. It was eight in the morning, and we were moored over Coral Garden, a reef community referred to as Grandma's Garden. Was that to make it sound more comforting? No one seemed to know.

I'd been reading lately that sometimes it's all about small victories.

What do you think? Would you keep reading?

  1. Sounds like a description from the Sri Lankan coast.

  2. Sounds warm! Today we've got a snow day, so I'd love some warmth :) Thanks for sharing!

  3. I don't know - surfing is not for me, but maybe that is why I should read a book about it!

  4. Love the teaser. We have to take our victories where we find them, maybe even especially the small ones.
My Teaser is from The Angels' Share by Ellen Crosby.

  5. Love it, I'd keep reading! Love the cover too.

  6. I would like to be in the Caribbean right now.

  7. I really like the sound of this one - that opening passage in particular has a real hook... Thank you for sharing:)

  8. I like that teaser and I've got my eye on this book.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.

Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.
