The Weekend Review - March 14th - 16th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Weekend!

This has certainly been a crazy week to say the least.  I just can't believe everything that has been going on with the virus.  It's a scary thing.  I pray everyone is safe and healthy and stays that way!

For me, everyone here is fine and it's business as usual.  Since we're both retired, we don't have to worry about going to work.  All events have been canceled around here so there's really not much to do except watch TV and read.  I'm okay with that for now :)

I'm very excited to announce that I will take over hosting the First Chapter/First Paragraph/Tuesday Intros meme from Vicki at I'd Rather Be At The Beach blog.  I'll be starting on March 24th.  Thank you to Vicki for all her hard work in hosting this meme and for giving me the opportunity to host.  I'm looking forward to it.

I've been reading and watching my shows.  I've been watching the news, too, but it's hard to watch it for too long.  Between politics and the virus, it can be too much for me.  I need to escape into my books :)

Other than that, it's been quiet for me.  How has your week been?

Yvonne

  1. I'm happy you are taking over the meme. It is a meme that I hope to participate in. I always discover a lot of good books by browsing the postings each week.

We are retired, too, so this virus has not affected us a lot yet. I'm trying to hold back my very-social 93-year-old dad and his wife and friends.

  2. Like I mentioned to another blogger, I'm not watching the news or keeping up with it (much beyond seeing about the national emergency being declared, obviously). It's not that I want to stick my head in the sand, but that for my own mental health too, I need to step away and with my being off (mostly) from work at the library where I work for the next two weeks, I'll be able to do just that, mostly by reading. Like you, I'm escaping into books.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.

Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.
