Book Beginnings on Fridays/The Friday 56 - October 16th

This is a fun meme to do hosted by Freda's Voice. If you'd like to join on the fun go to The Friday 56.

Rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader.
*Find any sentence that grabs you.
*Post it.
*Link it here.

It's that simple.

I'm also joining in Book Beginnings on Friday. It's hosted by Rose City Reader

I'm currently reading this one. The excerpts are from the E-ARC...

First Chapter...

The rain is drumming a beat on the floor-to-ceiling windows, creating a rhythm for the awkward dance I've been performing for the past twenty minutes:  glance down at watch on wrist, grimace, flash a brief, discomfited smile at the sales assistant before uttering the words 'she'll be here any minute now' with so much false cheer I could be auditioning for the role of a children's TV presenter, then stare out of the rain-splattered window until it's time for the loop to begin again.

From 56% on my Kindle...

"We need a photo commemorate the moment." Dad dashes off, returning with his camera.

What do you think?  What are you sharing today?

  5. I couldn't really get a feel for what was going on, so I searched for the book synopsis. The going back in time to fix things element is intriguing. Hope you have a good weekend.
