The Weekend Review - October 10-12th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Hi Everyone!  Happy Weekend!

I hosted many blog tours this week and have a few scheduled for next week.  I only finished one book this week but it was a good one.  Hopefully I can get more read next week.  Although I still plan to cut back on my blog tours, the ones scheduled were tours I already committed to (or NetGalley ARCs I received).

Nothing exciting is going on here, which is always a good thing, I think.  A quiet week is always the best thing.  I see some of my TV shows will be coming back this month so that will break things up a bit since we are still basically staying home.  Our state is pretty much open, but the virus cases are still there.  Better safe than sorry.

I still haven't decided whether to switch my blog to WordPress but I think I'm going to stick with Blogger for now.  Although, it's still driving me crazy.  I'll give it a little time.

I do hope you all had a great week and the upcoming week is good too.  Take care and stay safe.

  1. I am hoping to listen to We Hear Voices. I think the audiobook releases in December. Agreed, a quiet week is always welcome. Hope you enjoy the upcoming TV season. A few of our favorites will return this week.

  2. I haven't watched much TV at all lately, but it sounds good that some shows will be coming back... I need to check if any of my shows will have new episodes, too.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading :) Stay safe and healthy.

  3. Glad you have been having a nice, quiet week - yes, I'm in agreement that's the best sort, especially at the moment!!! Take care and let's hope the coming week is also a good one.

  4. I am hoping Blogger is stable for your sake, though I would keep suggesting to switch over to WP! And I agree, better safe than sorry!

  5. Hi there Yvonne! You say it's a quiet week with you, but there are so many blogposts and blog tours! Seems busy to me!

How about just getting one of the newer Blogger Templates? I did that and I honestly don't have issues.

Life is just overall a bit busy, so there's not that much time for blogging on my side.

Hope you will have a good week!

  6. I saw this morning that our world has had a million cases in the last three days. Now sounds like a good time to stay at home.

I wish I knew how quickly prices of Kindle books change. I keep a wish list at Amazon, and I am curious about how the prices of the books I want to read change.

How will your blog change if you reduce the number of tours you do? I wonder if you will continue to post reviews but do it less frequently.

I hope you have another peaceful week.

  8. Blogger is definitely driving me nuts too. People say they're fixing some things but I still get frustrated haha.

The emma Rous book looks like a good one.

  9. A quiet week is definitely the way to go! I cut way back on blog tours last year and have not regretted it at all. I only do Berkley and the occasional publisher request and it's taken a lot of stress off me. We are staying put as much as possible as well. I hope you have a great (and quiet) week!

  12. The new Blogger is a construct of evil but I don't believe WP is sunshine and lollipops so I'm taking the "better the devil you know" tact and sticking with it... I'm finding it's getting easier now I'm more familiar.

I cut down on tours and promo this year and it was the best decision I made! I wish you luck with finishing off your commitments and then hope you enjoy the freedom!

    Take care!

  18. I'm looking forward to a new season of The Voice. I don't watch much beyond sports - especially baseball - on television. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  19. All your books look great. Most likely sticking with Blogger for now is a good idea as at least you know your way around it fairly well even with the new parts.

  20. Lots of great books this week. I can't wait to hear what you think of The 12 Christmases of You & Me. I picked up Casting Call for A Corpse when it first came out. I really need to catch up on that series.

Not sure if you heard, Jon Land is continuing with Margaret Truman's Capital Crimes series. Looks like the first book is coming in February.

Thanks for sharing. Hope you have a good week.

  21. I meant to say that I'm not thrilled with the new WordPress at all, but I am muddling through. I found the new Blogger much easier to navigate; though I found Blogger easier to navigate than WordPress prior to the updates.
