The Weekend Review - October 17-19th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Hi Everyone!  Happy Weekend!

It's hard to believe but we are almost at Halloween which means November is right around the corner.  It's all going so fast.

I'm already reading Christmas books but that's only because they were scheduled for blog tours.  Otherwise I would have held off until December, but it's nice to read them now too.  I probably won't have a chance to read any Halloween type books right now.

I am watching Halloween type shows/movies, though.  I started watching The Haunting of Bly Manor on Netflix.  It's pretty good.

On a personal note, my kitty Cookie was having trouble breathing again so we brought her to the vet yesterday.  He thinks she's having asthma and allergy problems and gave her a shot.  Today she is doing much better but we're keeping an eye on her.  She goes back to the vet in a month.

Nothing new on the virus front.  The numbers keep increasing in our area so we are choosing to keep safe.  We go out when we need stuff, but that's about it.

Other than that, a relatively quiet week.  How was your week?  Anything interesting going on?

  1. So sorry to hear your kitty is not feeling well! Elza sends big hugs and love.

We are taking part in the Fraterfest Read-a-thon, so I'm surrounded with scary books at the moment. Try to keep the tv shows a bit lighter!

Hope you will have a good week Yvonne.

  3. I think you will be glad you were reading Christmas books early this year; who knows what Christmas will be like this year, and I think we could use as much as we can get.

I hope your vet was able to get your cat's troubles under control. It sounds like your cat is doing better.

We started the new season of the Great British Baking Show and we liked it a lot. The contestants are in quarantine for the duration of the bakeoff, so it makes it all seem a bit more real.

  5. You have so many tempting books! I love the cover of Christmas at the Farmhouse...and also The Wickenham Murders.

I hope Cookie stays well...and that all of you do, too. Staying home and safe is the best plan, isn't it?

  7. I hope your kitty starts feeling better soon. It's so stressful. I hope the allergy shots help. Hugs.

I loved the Haunting of Bly Manor. It's so different from Hill House but also such a great story line. Hope you enjoy the rest of it. If you have Hulu Monsterland was quite good too.

Marion Lane and the Midnight Murder looks good. Happy reading and watching! Stay safe!

  17. Sorry to hear about Cookie. I hope she continues to improve.

My week was nuts, but that's the way real estate is--feast or famine.

Great books this week. Christmas at the Farmhouse looks wonderful. Hope you enjoy your books and have a nice week.

  18. I tend not to read holiday books no matter which holiday is under discussion. I'm sort of a mood reader when not immersed in review books. I'm glad Cookie is doing better. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  20. I loved Bly Manor. I stayed up until midnight watching it. I hope Cookie’s problem is just allergies. My dog has bad allergies, and the symptoms are concerning, but they haven’t done any permanent damage to her yet. Have a great week!
