The Weekend Review - July 20th-July 22nd

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to Stacking the Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

Mostly it was a quiet week, until our refrigerator broke down. After a few mishaps with fixing it, it's finally working well again.  I'm so glad we didn't need a whole new refrigerator.  Although, I had to throw out my ice cream.  I don't like melted, then refrozen ice cream.  We went today to replace things, but we didn't need to replace much since we have a smaller refrigerator in the garage.  It was here when we bought the house.  But, by the time we realized what was going on, we had to throw some things out but that's okay.  Mostly we saved things.  We did a little shopping today mainly to replace my ice cream :)

I only read two books this week, but they were good ones.  I'm pretty sure I won't finish all of my July books.  Not my fault, since the month decided to go way too fast.  I don't have much for August so maybe I can catch up then.  We'll see.

I'm still watching and enjoying Outlander.  I'm not watching much of anything else this summer.

So, what was your week like?  Anything new and exciting going on?  I hope all have a great week!

I finished reading ...

These are the books I was hoping to read in July.  With only one and a half weeks left, I'm not sure if I'll make it but I'm trying.  Next week will be my August list.

Here is this week's Kindle freebie haul.  They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying. The prices change quickly.

  1. When my dad's refrigerator broke down, the repairman that came out urged him to buy a new one, telling him it would cost just as much to fix the old one. I'm glad yours was able to be fixed!

Good luck on completing your July reads!

  4. It's a nightmare when Fridges break down. A good looking haul of books. I didn't quite manage to get past your kindle freebie list without having a sneaky look to see if they were still free!!

Have a great rest of the weekend!

  7. I have read Outlander, and even purchased all the books in the series, but never watched it. The trailers look awesome, though! I suspect I’ll try to finish reading before viewing, so no surprises are taken away.

  9. Yes July is going way too fast. It us such a nuisance when a fridge or freezer goes bung. Glad you got more ice cream! Two books week is great and hope you get to one or two more before the month runs out.

  12. So glad you were able to repair the refrigerator. Those things are pricey. Your books sound great. Lenny Marks Gets Away with Murder caught my eye. Hope you have a nice week.

  13. Sorry to hear about your refrigerator. We recently had to replace the condenser on hours. We too have a garage refrigerator to help save the day. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  14. I despise appliance issues. You just reminded me I need to get to The Astrology House. I keep forgetting about it! Hope you have a great week and I agree, refrozen melted ice cream is the worst!

  15. Ice cream is a must!

One Big Happy Family looks creepy.

  16. Our freezer did the same thing. It was just too bunged up I think. We emptied it out, cleaned it, and when we turned it back on it was fine.
