The Weekend Review - May 3rd-5th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to Stacking the Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to May!  The months just roll by, don't they?

I finished two books this week.  Both were good, short mysteries.  I continue to watch my shows.  This week I watched Survivor, 911 and NCIS.  Also, Love It or List It is back on HGTV and that's always fun.  The TV season is coming to an end and I'm not sorry about that.  There are shows I binge watch like Knots Landing, but I only have one season left of that show.

The weather here has been beautiful.  I've been walking more often, although I'm sure the humidity is just around the corner, and I won't be able to walk anymore.  For now, I'm enjoying the good weather.

May is going to be a busy time for me.  It's our 38th wedding anniversary and we're going to be spending some time together.  I'll be doing the occasional meme in May but I don't have any blog tours scheduled.  I'll, also, be doing reviews as I continue to read books.  So, you might see my blog slow down at some points during the month, but it's only temporary.

Not too much else is going on around here.  I hope you all have a great week.

These are the books I'm hoping to read in May.  Of course, I'll be adding to the list as the month moves along.

Here is this week's e-book freebie haul.  They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying. The prices change quickly.

  6. I am glad you are enjoying nice weather, Yvonne! Definitely take advantage of it while you can. I hope you and your husband have a wonderful anniversary this month.

I decided to skip last week's episode of 911, but did watch this week's. I couldn't sit through that sad episode. Vera Wong's book is on my unofficial to read list for this month too. I am really hoping I can sneak it in. I hope you have a great week and enjoy your reading!

  8. Yes! This year is flying by! I have annual Christmas gifts to get stitching, so I better get on the ball! 😉Congratulations on 38 years of marriage! You can’t go wrong with Bostwick’s books – especially when combined with bookish theme! I just placed a hold on Sutanto’s book and a request for Sampson’s (when it comes in). Thank you for sharing!

  12. Happy anniversary! I never made it to any big numbers in my marriages, lol. I do better unmarried, though.

I like the look of your books, especially The Book Club for Troublesome Women.

I am still enjoying Falcon Crest...on Season 5.

    Enjoy your reading and viewing.

  13. Bodies and Battlements looks fun, the setting of an old castle turned B&B is so appealing! I hope you enjoy all the books you read in May :)

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.

Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.
