The Weekend Review - August 23rd-25th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to Stacking the Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

I can't believe we are heading into the last week of August already.  Time is flying.

I read two books this week.  I'm interrupting my scheduled reading to read the library books I got.  I started with Asylum Hotel.  I'm glad I did.  I'm really enjoying this one.  This is a great weekend to read since we've been having thunderstorms and there's not much else to do except read.  I haven't really been watching much TV lately.

Nothing new happening here.  It's been a slow week.

How was your week?  Read or watch anything good?  I hope everyone has a great week.

These are the books still on the August list.  I'm pretty sure I'll be carrying them over to September.

Here is this week's e-book freebie haul.  They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying. The prices change quickly.

  1. I think the huge thunderstorms that rolled through here on Friday made their way to you by now. I can't remember hearing so much thunder and seeing so much lightning!

I'm glad you are enjoying Asylum Hotel!

  8. Rainy weeks can be good for reading. We had quite a "frog strangler" of a monsoon storm Friday afternoon here in the swamps as well.

  11. We had a few thunderstorms last week too. I enjoy them as long as the power stays on which it did except for a couple of flickers. I liked Asylum Hotel which I recently finished. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  13. I am shocked that it is the end of August already. We also had a storm on the weekend but it is nice now, a lot cooler than it has been. I hope this last week of summer is a good one for you, Yvonne.
