About the Book
Synopsis from Goodreads:
Gidget thinks a Caribbean cruise will cure her mid-life crisis. It works until her travel companions begin to die mysteriously. The amateur detective puts on her Sherlock Holmes hat but comes up against sinister forces unlike any the great detective ever faced. Follow Gidget and Daffy in a cozy whodunit as they cruise on a ship full of romance, humor, and homicide in another Casserole Ladies misadventure.
My Review
The Casserole Ladies are back again. This time it’s Gidget and Daffy on a cruise ship while their fellow Casserole Ladies have other plans keeping them home.
Everything is going really well on the ship, and the ladies are having the time of their lives. It stops being fun when the people around them start to die and definitely not from natural causes. Gidget and Daffy set out to do their own investigation. They find themselves in the craziest, dangerous situations ever. They quickly learn that everything isn’t always as it seems.
This series is a great combination of comedy and mystery. It kept me laughing from the start. Not to mention that I was at the edge of my seat worrying about Gidget and Daffy throughout the book.
The author does an excellent job of painting the setting. I felt as if I was right there on the ship. The characters are portrayed to perfection from quirky to lovable and a couple of bad guys as well. They all jump right off the page.
It’s a fast-paced mystery with many LOL moments, as well as a few chilling ones. The story is filled with twists and turns along the way with a shocker of an ending.
This is the third book in the series. Although each mystery is contained within each book, I think it’s important to read them all in order. It gives the reader more of a chance to learn about each member of the Casserole Ladies and their relationships. I feel as if they all old friends. I’m looking forward to another visit with them. I hope there will be another book soon.
