For Socrates

I write this with tears in my eyes and a very heavy heart...my beautiful 16 year old Socrates passed away this morning.  A couple of weeks ago he was diagnosed with heart disease, a mass and cancer.  It all happened pretty fast, but he was having difficulty breathing and couldn't even stand to drink water this morning.  I'm heartbroken and going to take a break from blogging for a bit...not for long but I need to get my head together.  It wasn't long ago that I lost my Geiger.  Now both of my boys are gone.

I will honor all my blog tour commitments  and will do reviews that were requested as I can.  For the most part, I'm going to be laying low for awhile.

    I am so sorry :-( We recently lost my daughter's beloved guinea pig and I have lost lovely kitties in the past -- it's just so hard. Hugs!!!

    It is so hard to lose a pet. After our 14 year old male disappeared, I had no thought of getting another pet, then we went out to eat and saw a kitten with a sign that said Lost Cat Needs Home and I had to pet the kitten and brought her home. Reese is very active but we still miss KITT. Hugs from me. Take the time you need.

    My deepest sympathies. I totally fall apart when I lose one of my family so I understand completely. Just try to remember all the good times in those 16 years.

    Aw, I'm so sorry to hear this. Socrates was a beautiful cat and I know how saddened you must be having gone through losing our own and 7 of my dad's that I got close to. It's very tough.

    I'm so, so sorry for your loss. I've been through this and I know how much it hurts. Take all the time you need and when the time is right find a new little kitty to love. I've done that and it helps.

    Yvonne, there are no words for me to express how sorry I am about beautiful Socrates. I can't believe I didn't know he was sick. I'm so, so sorry...I am literally crying myself. Socrates has become an old friend to us at Cat Thursday. Take care of yourself. Sending love and positive thoughts your way and much love to Socrates for his journey across the Rainbow Bridge.
