First Chapter Tuesday/Teaser Tuesday - February 27th

Every Tuesday Vicki at I'd Rather Be At the Beach hosts First Chapter First Paragraph Tuesday Intros, where we share the first paragraph or (a few) of a book we are reading or thinking about reading soon. Care to join us?

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, now being hosted by Ambrosia at The Purple Booker. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

I'm about to start reading...

First Chapter...

Looking back, the most striking thing is that she knew I didn't like her and she didn't care. That type of self-possession at the tender age of nineteen - well, it's unnatural. Or French. She was very, very French.

A dead body has been found, but life goes on.

What do you think? Would you keep reading?

  1. Sounds interesting, I would continue reading to find out how being French is all about. Happy reading!

    Here is mine:

  2. I like the opening sentence - it packs a punch while establishing that this is a story being told by a first person narrator. I hope you enjoy this one, Yvonne.
Mine is a debut urban fantasy offering -

  3. Great opening and teaser. I'm waiting for a copy of this book from the library. I've heard good things about it and hope you enjoy it.

  4. Nice beginning. I saw this one for review but couldn't fit it into my calendar. I hope you enjoy it. This week I am spotlighting Hooked on a Phoenix by Ashlyn Chase. Happy reading!

  5. Both grabbed my attention. Look forward to your thoughts.

  6. I'd probably read on. Both are enticing. My Teaser is from a short mystery story Diamond Girl

  7. I just got this one last week...and I can't wait to read it. Thanks for sharing, and here's mine: “AN AMERICAN MARRIAGE”

  8. I love that opening paragraph. It makes me want to read on just to find out what's so great about being French.

  9. I like that opening. And the teaser definitely has me wondering.

  10. I enjoyed this one and the beginning is definitely a good one! I hope you're enjoying it!

  11. Would I read more based on these snippets? Oui!

  12. I just posted a review for this one today. I really enjoyed it and hope you will too!

  13. Yes I would keep reading and I hope you enjoy it too.
