The Weekend Review - February 2nd-4th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now a Facebook group.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Weekend!

No snow here, but we did have crazy cold temps.  The windchills were well below 0 here, but not nearly as bad as in other places.  Now the temps are on the rise and it's going to feel like spring.  So, I can't complain :)

I got a new job that I started last week.  All is going well, so far.  My blogging time will be limited.  I'm going to have to do a lot of cutting back.  As I've mentioned previously, I already cut back on my reviewing.  I didn't even get alot of Kindle freebies this week.  My mind has just been elsewhere these days.

I only finished one book and it was a good one.  My review will be up next week.  Now that I have a new job and will be commuting again, I'm going to give audio books a try.  I listened to some good ones last time I was working.

I'm not a football fan, so I will be watching the Kitten Bowl on the Hallmark Channel instead.  That's more my speed.  LOL

If you are a football fan, I hope you enjoy the game.  I hope everyone has a great week!

Posts Last Week

I'm currently listening to...

I will be reading this one next...

I'm finished reading...

Here are this week's Kindle freebie haul. They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying. The prices change quickly.

These books are coming up for reviews and/or blog tours in the next couple of months:

  1. Hope your new job goes well and you settle in. I love audiobooks. Perfect for travel of any kind.

  2. I love it...The Kitten Bowl, eh? Now that's a good way to spend Super Bowl Sunday for me!

I hope your new job goes well.

  3. Good Luck with the new job and that will give you some time to read with the commute which is kinda cool. I have family coming today but not for the superbowl. I will most likely watch some of it here and there and try to catch halftime. I used to make it a big thing in my house but haven't seen I went back for my BSN. Have a great week!

  4. I hope you enjoy The Suspect...and I am eyeing The Missing Years.

Do you have Google+? If so, you probably know it's going away in April. Out of the blue?

I hadn't used it much, but now I had to remove the links to it from my blogs!

  5. We didn't have snow or freezing temps. I guess that's a good things, but I would have liked a little bit of snow. :)

  6. Hope the new job goes well and good luck with the audiobooks on the commute!

  7. Congrats on the new job! I taped the Cat Bowl last night to watch tonight. I am glad they did one with older adoptable cats.XO

  8. I hope audiobooks work well for you. I really have found them to be great for fitting in more books. I get MANY from the library. In fact, I just got the Widow which is the one before The Suspect. I hope everything this week goes well with your new work. Anne - Books of My Heart

  9. Congrats on the new job! I'm still job searching, so I hope that I find a job soon. Hope you have a great week!

    Here’s my Sunday Post!

Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog

  10. Congrats on the new job! I’m not a football fan, so I blog hopped and ate the party food while everybody else watched. It was a fun time for me!

Aj @ Read All The Things!

  11. We dipped down into the 20s for a night or two but now back to 70s. The groundhog didn't see his shadow so I'm hoping for that early spring! Best of luck with your new job.

    My Sunday Post

  12. Hope the new job works out for you, and of course it will need to take precedence. Hope you find just the right audio for the commute.

  13. I didn't watch the Super Bowl either but I was following the Superb Owl on Twitter. My weekly update

  14. Good luck with the new job! Audiobooks are the only good things about having a commute to work. My longest commute was about five minutes so they didn't work for me. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  15. Looking forward to The Missing Years! I also have to read a Fiona Barton- I love thrillers but haven't made my way to her yet.
