The Weekend Review - August 10th-12th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Weekend!

It's hard to believe that summer is almost over, but it's already the second week of August.  Time is flying.  The weather has been beautiful here.

I finished a couple of more books this week and enjoyed them.  I was happy to get another Mary Kay Andrews book to review.  I always enjoy her books.  Now I'm reading - of all things a Christmas romantic suspense.  My mind is still in "beach read" mode, but I want to get a head start on my September reviews and this was the first one coming up.  It's good so far.

As usual, I picked up a few Kindle freebies.  I have no idea when I'll have time to read all of these books, but they don't cost anything and take up no physical space :)

Besides the boring house chores, I'm hoping to get some more reading time in this weekend.  I hope you all have a great week!

Yvonne

  2. Freebies are so tempting! And I read a Christmasy book too, but it was a mystery anthology. I have no idea why I picked that in August haha!

Summer IS flying, I can't believe how fast. Have a great week. :)

  3. A Christmas story and a Halloween story and a beach story! Now that sounds like fun. The beach story reminds us that we are on vacation and resting, and the Christmas story cools us off!

I hope you have a wonderful week!

  7. We are enjoying the weather here too. Just cool enough in the evenings to sit out on the back patio and read a little. It'll be even nicer as fall approaches. I have a few Christmas themed romances and mysteries on my TBR pile to read in the near future. It seems too early, but is it really? They are good any time of year. I hope were able to enjoy a weekend of reading! Have a great week, Yvonne!

  13. That Christmas trifle looks so yummy. Funny but I don't mind reading Christmas books at any time of the year, always such a good spirit to them. A big yes to Mary Kay Andrews. I think you still have quite a bit of summer to enjoy!!
