The Weekend Review - August 24th-26th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Weekend!

As the summer days wind down, I continue to enjoy my books.  I only finished one this week and halfway through another.  The good thing is, I'm really enjoying my books.  I'm just not a fast reader, though.  I never was, but I'm enjoying what I am reading and that's what's important.

I completed another reading challenge this week.  I'm going to hold off on posting wrap up posts and do a few together.  I continue to collect e-book freebies.  I just can't  help myself.  The book I finished this week - Fields' Guide to Abduction - is actually a freebie I picked up awhile ago.  It was so good.  I loved every minute of it.  It makes me wonder how many other great freebies are on my e-reader waiting for me to read.

I'm still not watching too much TV, but this week the new season of Chesapeake Shores (on the Hallmark channel) starts.  So, I will be watching that.  Another series of books I need to catch up on - this series is written by one of my favorite romance authors, Sherryl Woods.

It's been pretty quiet here.  I continue downsizing and actually making progress.  What have you all been up to?  Read or see anything good?

Yvonne

  1. Circle in the Sand has such a fun cover! And I'm glad the Mulhern book turned out good. I need to catch up on her books. She's very prolific, which is always nice. :)

I'm still looking for a new show to watch. My Netflix viewing has been down.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  2. Congrats on completing the reading challenge! I love Hallmark Channel so much but I don't have it anymore and it's so sad *sobs*

  3. I had a good week here. It was the busiest week I can remember since I was retired; one day I did four different activities. Crazy.

We are downsizing, too. It's a huge relief, actually, to have fewer things around to me to care for.

I need to see what you thought about Fields' Guide.

I hope you have a lovely week!

  4. I’ve watched a season or two of Chesapeake Shores. My husband and I have been catching up with Instinct, and Elementary.

Reading should be enjoyable, it’s doesn’t matter how fast or slow you are.

    Have a great reading week

  10. I have Oysterville on my list too. We have been catching up on Handmaid's Tale, but other than not, not too much on television.

  11. I have been happily engaged in a reread of the Sherlock Holmes/Mary Russell series by Laurie R. King and watching baseball. But now I have to turn my attention to my stack of review books. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  12. I think its great to be a slow reader, every year I think I'll slow my reading down! I noticed the 4th season of Chesapeake Shores had dropped. I've only watched some of the 1st season but I did read quite a few of the books and of course i love the scenery.

  13. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying what you're reading! Honestly, everyone is different with how they read and it's great to be a slow reader! Oh, I've always wanted to watch Chesapeake Shores but I just haven't gotten around to it. (I seem to be this way with a lot of shows.)

Hope the week ahead treats you well! Happy reading!
