The Weekend Review - September 5th-7th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Weekend Everyone!

When the pandemic started in March, it felt like time stopped.  It felt as if it was March forever.  Now, I feel like time is flying even though the pandemic is still with us.  Maybe it's because things are opening up more, but I really can't believe we are finished with the first week of September already.

I had another busy blog week filled mostly with spotlights.  Next week I have a few but not as many.  I only managed to finish one book which was a good one set at Christmas time.  Maybe that's why I'm feeling as if time is flying.  LOL

Netflix released a new show this week that I tried.  It's called Away and it stars Hilary Swank.  I'm really liking it.  I, also, started watching Ted Danson's The Good Place which I found surprisingly good.  I have quite a ways to go with that show.

On a personal level, nothing exciting happened but I think that's a good thing.  It's quiet and very hot here.  I'm getting used to living in this hot weather, but I do appreciate the a/c :)

Those of you with a three day holiday weekend, I hope you enjoy it and are relaxing.  Even if you don't have a holiday weekend, I wish you all a great week.  Take care and stay safe.

  1. I am eagerly awaiting Confessions on the 7:45, and Checked Out for Murder looks tempting.

Stay safe and enjoy the AC. We have hot weather here, too.

  2. September is already flying by just like August did! And Away has me curious- I've seen another blogger mention it as well. Gonna check it out.

    Happy Labor Day weekend!

  3. I wonder why so many cozy murder mysteries feature cats? Are cats a pre-requested prop or something? Or maybe we are just so clever and intuitive....

The Friday Fill-inn seems like fun! Will see if I can add it in.

Hope you will have a wonderful week ahead. Here's my The Sunday Post #10

  4. I've been having very odd conceptions of time during the pandemic, too. At first, everything seemed slow, and now it's all speeded up. I don't know why. I haven't read any Christmas books!

The Good Place is the show we have been watching for the past few months. I was happy to see that season four is coming to our library. We will probably have to rush through it, though, as others will be waiting for it.

Thanks for sharing your list of Kindle titles that might be free. Paris Before You Die (oh I do hope so!) was still free, so happy day!

Hippie Haven sounds promising. I always wonder why there aren't more books about those hippie days.

    Have a good week, Yvonne.

  8. I feel the same, the first half of the year crawled by but it’s September already! I added Away to my ?Netflix queue too

Wishing you a great reading week

  9. I love The Good Place, in fact my husband loves it too and he is notoriously fussy when it comes to tv!

This year is weird, one minute it’s March, the next it’s September.

    Have a good week.

  15. I agree, time does seem to be flying by and while I typically don't like that in this case, I don't mind. I want us to somehow get over this pandemic. I will need to look for the Hillary Swank series. Have a great week ahead!

  16. I enjoy the Angie Fox series so I picked up that book for my Halloween reading (I don't like scary so I read paranormal cozies) - Thanks for letting me know it is free. Check out what I read.
