The Weekend Review - June 12th-14th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

It's been hot here in Florida, which is to be expected.  It means less walking time for me, which means less audio books, but that's okay.

I only finished one book this week, but it's a good one - The Stepsisters by Susan Mallery.  My review will be part of a blog tour later this week.

As most of you know, FeedBurner will be discontinuing their email service in July.  I see a few people are going with Follow It.  Do any of you have that one?  I'm thinking of using them as a replacement for FeedBurner.  Any thoughts?

I'm pretty much caught up with my TV viewing.  I still have a few episodes of Manifest to watch, then I just wait for the last two episodes of The Blacklist to air.

Not too much has been happening here.  Anything new happening in your corner of the world?  I hope you all have a great week!

  1. It's been hot here too. We hit 88 today. Summer definitely feels like it's arrived!

I haven't thought about the Feedburner situation too much, although I probably should. I'm not familiar with Follow It but should do some looking into! I hope there are some good alternatives out there.

    Have a great weekend!

  2. The weather has been really sunny here in the UK too, although probably not as hot as you! 😉 Not much to report on my week either, what with work, stress and fatigue, I haven't done much but take solace in comfort TV watches. 📺

Take care and happy reading in the coming week 🙂

  3. It warmed up into the 90s for the first time last week. We are lucky here, as we always have a cool breeze blowing off the Gulf.

I'm eager to read some adult books after focusing on kid books all last week. The Stepsisters looks perfect for summer.

I went with Follow It, though I never could figure out how to transfer over my subscribers. Hopefully someone else will and that person will share it with us!

    Have a great week, Yvonne!

  4. I can't believe Google is disposing off one another service that we all loved. Stay safe and stay in the shade.

  5. It's really hot and humid where I live in Florida too.

The Stepsisters sounds really good, and I love the cover.

  7. Looks like a great week! I have been eyeing The Stepsisters.

Enjoy your viewing, too. I started Blacklist years ago, but dropped out after a while...but I might need to see it online!

Enjoy your week, and here are my WEEKLY UPDATES

  8. I've bet its been real hot in Florida as it has reached the 90s in Minnesota which is odd. I may be coming out to Florida in July but that's still up in the air.

  9. I hope you get some cool breezes so you can go for some walks and listen to audiobooks. It's been hot here and I've been glad for my little pop up pool to cool off in the afternoons.

  10. It's already getting too hot for me to walk, and I'm in Virginia, which is (sometimes) cooler than Florida. Thank goodness for the treadmill.

I need to figure out what to do about the FeedBurner issue. Maybe I can look into that this week.

    Enjoy your new books!

  11. It feels like Florida in Massachusetts lately. I wonder why they moved Blacklist to Wednesday nights so close to the end of the season. We need to catch up on Manifest too. Right now we are binge watching Star Trek Picard. XO

  13. So hope you are enjoying The House Guests. Good to hear you loved the Susan Mallery book. I have been walking but actually haven't been bringing my audio, just quiet time and soaking in the colours and sounds.

  16. It is summery here in my part of Minnesota too but not as warm as where you are. I listen to audiobooks while sitting on my couch playing computer games in addition to when I go for walks. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
