The Weekend Review - June 19th-21st

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!  Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!

It's hard to believe but July is right around the corner.  I know we are always saying how fast time flies but it's really true.  Here, in Florida, it's been hot, humid and very rainy.  Many thunderstorms and it looks like the coming week will be more of the same.  I'm hoping that means more reading time for me.

I finished two good books this week.  I also started to watch Virgin River on Netflix.  I only saw the first couple of episodes but it's good.  I enjoyed Robyn Carr's books, although I haven't finished the whole series yet.

As for other TV shows, I'm just finishing up The Blacklist.  Their season finale is next week and these past couple of episodes have been so good.  I enjoyed Manifest's season finale, but unfortunately it's apparently the series finale since the show was canceled right after the finale aired.  They left us with a huge cliffhanger.  So, I'm hoping Netflix or another network will continue it.

On the blog, I decided to go with Follow It for subscribers of my blog.  Now I don't have to worry about Feedburner going away.  One thing to cross off my list.  If you aren't already subscribed, and want to, there's a button on the sidebar of this blog.

It's basically been pretty quiet here.  How has your week been?  I hope the upcoming week is a good one for you.

  1. Virgin River is very good. We're currently watching Dynasty. It's a good. Not the old one, the new one on Netflix.

    Have a fabulous weekend. ♥

  3. The humidity has shown up here with a vengeance! I love the heat but the humidity gets kind of old! The Diane Kelly is calling my name! It looks great! Have a good week.

  4. I heard about Manifest! That's a bummer for all the show's fans! And I know what you mean about July- yikes this summer is flying already!

Your books look good. Especially The House Guests.

  6. It has been pretty hot and humid here, too! However the weather broke just a few days ago and now it is rain, rain, rain... I hope you will continue to enjoy watching Virgin River, as I also watched and enjoyed it, while I was poorly with Covid last year!

Take care and happy reading in the coming week. 🙂

  7. Hi Yvonne! I've watched both series of Virgin River and enjoyed them a lot! Haven't read the books though. Still watching Manifest. So what now?? Let's wait and see.

I love all your kitty books! I guess I need to update my reading challenges and see how many kitty mysteries I've had so far this year.

    Have a good week!

  8. I love Virgin River and now I want to start it all over. I've also been thinking about reading the books.

The weather has been the same where I live in Florida. I'm not a fan of high humidity or rain every day.

I gave up on Manifest pretty quickly.

I hope you have a great week!

  9. It was rainy all of May and now June has decided to be the hot month. I prefer hot since it (supposedly) keeps away the hurricanes.

Cats and Catnapping looks like great fun.

We just started Manifest. I wonder if it will be picked up by someone else.

  10. Looks like some great books. I have been watching a few korean dramas with subtitles. I didn't realize we have so many foreign titles and I love the atmosphere of these shows.

  11. It’s wet and cold here, though I prefer that to humidity.
I hate when seasons end on a cliffhanger and then the show is canceled.

Wishing you a great reading week

  12. Glad you don't seem to mind the thunderstorms - I hate them as I'm supposed to close down my computer and disconnect it, which I hate doing. And I hate thunder! I love the look of The Moonshine Shack Murder and hope you have a great week, Yvonne:).

  13. We are chillin' inside today watching golf on TV and ignoring all the outside tasks that should be attended to. Have a good week. My Sunday Salon post is mostly about animals.

  14. I hope Manifest gets picked up by another network as they clearly have more to tell. Happy Father's Day to your Cats' Daddy!

  15. We have had some cooler weather until this past weekend. Not sure my plants are happy with the heat.

So many fun looking books on your list this week. Cats and Catnapping is right up my alley. Much Ado about Naticaling also looks cute.

Hope you have a nice week.

  17. Sorry to hear that things are so soggy where you are! I was just in Arizona, where I was really hoping for a thunderstorm. We got close one night, but no luck. I'm taking the kids back down in August, so maybe we'll see one then! Oregon thunderstorms are so underwhelming... - Melinda @ A Web of Stories

  18. I did start watching Virgin River but haven't continued. Not because I didn't like it but just a lazy viewer. I did read the whole series. Have a good reading week.

  19. I haven't watched anything on TV except baseball games since the The Voice finished its season. We could use some rain here. It rained most of the day yesterday but that wasn't enough. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  20. I love the Diane Kelly cover. Have you watched Sweet Magnolias on Netflix? It's a good binge watch. Warning season ends on a cliff hanger.

  21. My sister was just telling me about Manifest. I need to give it a try, although if it ends on a cliffhanger, maybe I won't. But then I finished the series Them, and didn't like the big open ending either. Have a great week!
