The Weekend Review - February 19th-21st

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

Florida is getting warmer again.  I went on one of my walks yesterday and I fell!  That never happened to me before.  My knee blew up like a balloon, my glasses got bent out of shape and my cellphone cracked.  The crack isn't too bad.  It's just in the corner and it's usable.  Luckily my husband is an optician and put my glasses back in shape.  The swelling on my knee has gone down and now it's just bruised.  I figure I should stay off it today as much as I can.  So no walking and we still haven't tried our new bicycles, but I guess I should wait for that.

Then, my laptop was giving me all kinds of problems so my husband is working on it.  That means I'm using his laptop right now.  I was going to post pics from my zoo trip last week, but that will have to wait until I get back to my own computer.

I did manage to complete two books this week.  With my computer and knee out of commission, I'm hoping to get more reading in this week.  Although, my TV shows are coming back this week so maybe not.  I was really happy to see The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel return to Amazon Prime this week.  They don't release the entire series at once, but we saw the first two episodes and liked them.  We also binged the show Reacher, which I really liked.  I think I'll have to try the books.

That's about it for me this week.  How about you?  What's going on in your world?  Hope you all have a great week.

  1. Oh no- sorry to hear about your fall!

I've thought about trying Mrs. Maisel- it does look fun!

Hope your knee feels better soon. That's no fun for sure. I think the Ward book looks like a good one.

  3. After I fell four years ago and dislocated my thumb, I've been a lot more careful when I walk. I do not want to do that again!

I'm sorry your knee was hurt, but it's good you have more time for reading and watching. I hope you are able to try out your bikes soon.

  7. So sorry to hear about your fall, Yvonne. It happens to us all. I pray you will make a quick recovery and soon be out on those new bikes. My own week has been a blur of work, sleep and stormy weather. When not too tired I have been re-reading Eldest by Christopher Paolini and watching Sky's new true crime series, Murder in the Valleys. Take care and happy reading in the coming week. 🙂

  11. Aww, sorry to hear about your fall! That happened to me two summers ago when I twisted my ankle in a pothole - up north, of course. Ended up with a small chip fracture of my ankle and a very bloody knee. Glad your husband could fix your glasses. Hopefully the bikes will be safer!

  19. So sorry to hear you got hurt. I pray it heals quickly. Computers drive me crazy when they don't work. Hope the hubby can get that fixed for you.

I've seen clips of Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Looks like a good show.

So many of your books sound good, especially Ghosts, Lore & House By the Shore.

    Thanks for sharing.

  21. Sorry to hear about your fall. I fell this summer - skinned my arm badly and really twisted up my glasses. It has made me a lot more cautious and even hesitant to go walking. Nice looking books should make it pleasant keeping off your knee. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  22. Sorry about your knee and glasses and laptop. Hopefully, everything gets back to normal soon! I'm also very excited about Mrs. Maisel. I'm just wondering if I should rewatch the other seasons or just dive on in. Maybe I'll wait for the whole season to drop. And Reacher is also on my list. Rest up and I hope you have a great week!
