The Weekend Review - August 19th-21st

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

Well, this has been a wild week for me and not in a good way.  You might have noticed that I haven't been around lately, well here's my little saga.

Last Sunday afternoon I had pains in my shoulder.  Eventually it went down towards my rib area.  I took Tylenol and was hoping it was all just going to go away.  I was thinking I somehow pulled a muscle.  The pain continued to get worse.  I was trying to avoid it, but we had no choice but to go to the hospital.  Fortunately, they were empty and took me right in.  Without going into all the details, it ended up that I had blood around a mass on my liver.  They think the mass is benign but they had to stop the vessel that was bleeding, so they went in and did that.  I ended up spending the entire week in the hospital.  I was in pain or tired most of the time so I didn't bother doing anything online and I couldn't even read.  I finished two books this week, but that was before I got sick.  Any posts you saw for blog tours were pre-scheduled before all this happened.  No Kindle freebies this week either.

On Monday I have to start calling doctor's offices for appointments.  I'm still not 100% but I'm not bad enough to stay in the hospital at this point or at least I don't think so.

My commenting on blogs will be limited and I probably won't be posting my Tuesday meme until further notice.  In fact, if anyone would like to take over the First Chapter Tuesday meme, it would be greatly appreciated.  I don't think I'm up for it right now.  Just let me know.

Anyway, I hope you all had a better week than I did.

  5. Oh no Yvonne, I'm so sorry to hear that! I hope the pain has reduced to at least a manageable level and that you can get doctor appointments to help you in your recovery. Take as much time as you need away from reading and all of this, the books will still be there when you return! I hope your upcoming week will be kind!

  21. Ohmygosh what a frightening and painful week you've had!!! I thought you were going to say you had a heart attack. Never would've known that something near the liver could cause pain in the shoulder!

Wishing you all the best with scheduling your appointments, getting test results, and resting and healing!
