The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host! It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!
I'm also linking to Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.
Hi Everyone!
The first week of August is already over and it was another hot and humid one here. It looks like it's just going to keep getting hotter. That means more time reading in the air-conditioned house.
Despite being inside and reading, I only managed to finish one book. Once again, too much time on the computer, I guess. That's okay, though. I'm doing what I enjoy doing.
As for watching, I have to catch up with Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. I, also, started watching some old TV shows I used to love...I mean really old from the 1960's... Here Come the Brides and The Big Valley. I'm enjoying them.
Not much new is happening here. Same old, same old. How about you? Anything new going on in your world? I hope everyone has a great week!
I used to love Big Valley, a friend introduced me to it when we were kids. I always liked bad boy Nick ha.
ReplyDeleteSpawn and I binged The Golden Girls, and now it's one of his favourite comfort shows! Have a great week :)
ReplyDeleteMy computer and phone take away from my reading time too! As long as we're having fun, it's no big deal. My August update post is HERE. Have a great week! — Diana
ReplyDeleteI’m loving the new season Strange New Worlds and given the strike who knows when we’ll get more!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a great reading week, and cooler weather
It is a balance between reading and blogging. I hope you keep enjoying both when time permits. Have a great week. :-)
ReplyDeleteooo Big Valley I liked that. Bonanza, Gunsmoke. There were a lot of western shows in those days.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
The Big Valley!! I remember watching reruns after school....loved it! Bet it would be fun to revisit. Seems like the heat and humidity have been extra brutal down there this summer. Take care.
ReplyDeleteHi again. :-) Thanks for sharing your thoughts on e-readers. I had already downloaded the Kobo app, so it's good to know you like that e-reader. Is there an easy way to find free books for Kobo? For Amazon, I like the BookGorilla emails. Maybe something like that? Or a list on a website I can go to for Kobo?
ReplyDeleteMy Kobo is really wonderful. I love it. I signed up for a newsletter from freebooksy.com They give you a list of all freebies available for different e-readers.
DeleteThank you so much, Yvonne! I just signed up for the freebooksy emails. :-)
DeleteIt's been really humid here too. I love watching old episodes of Bonanza. Hope it cools down for both if us this week.
ReplyDeleteIt's a bit hot here too and then we have a pop up shower and then gets muggy...ugh. I mostly only watch old shows and movies as I don't like a lot of the content in new ones these days. I have been watching The Rockford Files on Freevee. Love me some James Gardner! :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day and happy reading!

Week in Review
Looks like some good books in your haul & upcoming reads. Here in Seattle it's been hovering in the low 80s, but this weekend has dropped to mid 70s and cloudy. Usually we're suffering through 90s by now, so maybe this will be a cooler summer overall.
ReplyDeleteHave a terrific week.

Talk about a blast from the past - The Big Valley! It was in re-runs here when I was growing up in the Caribbean too.
ReplyDeleteSummer is a good time to relax, if you can, and relaxing with a good book or an old TV show is a good thing.
ReplyDeleteWe like Strange New Worlds too. And we just finished Manifest on Netflix.
ReplyDeleteIf you are enjoying what you're working on, then it isn't a waste of time. That's my motto. (We'll see how my boss likes it tomorrow. ;) )
ReplyDeleteNothing new here either. I'm just watching baseball and reading. Those old TV shows sound good although I'll admit I didn't watch them when they ere first on TV. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThings have been busy here as well.. not a lot of leisurely reading time at my disposal.
ReplyDeleteI feel you about the heat and humidity. It's going to be 100+ here all week. I long for fall.
ReplyDeleteI need to make time to snuggle up on the couch and get in some quality reading time. There seems to be a lack of that as of late. I watched the first two episodes of Bones this weekend. I caught maybe one or two episodes over the years but never really got into the show until now. We'll see how it goes. Area 53 looks interesting as do your other upcoming and current reads. I look forward to reading your thoughts on them! Have a great week, Yvonne!
ReplyDeleteWhew. It's hot here, too. We have not had rain for 32 days, and that's weird here near Houston where we usually get over 50 inches a year.
ReplyDeleteThe Weekend Trip looks like fun.
Vintage Hearts looks cute!
ReplyDeleteI feel like we watch more old shows over the summer as well. We have been enjoying Newhart lately!
We've had either sunny muggy weather or storms with no in between. It's been a weird summer! Old shows are my favorite though I haven't watched either of the ones you mention. Hope you're having a great week!
