This week I'm joining in Book Beginnings on Friday. It's hosted by Rose City Reader. This is where we post the beginning of the books we are reading or will be reading.
I'm also joining in for the Friday 56.
Freda at Freda's Voice started and hosted The Friday 56 for a long, long time. She is taking a break and Anne at My Head if Full of Books has taken on hosting duties in her absence. Please visit Anne's blog and link to your Friday 56 post.

This is a short cozy mystery I'm reading.

I switched off the TV and plunked into the lone chair in the cottage. The sparsely furnished room cried out for more pieces to appear like someone lived there.

This development would devastate him if one of his friends was a murderer.
Synopsis from Goodreads:
A mysterious letter from the past, gut punching muffins, and funky smelling clues...
Second in the Belle Harbor Cozy Mystery series!
Tilly is settling into her new cottage and life in the quaint beach town of Belle Harbor. With her fledgling bakery partnering with the local coffee shop, she has high hopes that her business will soon take off.
Tilly’s new friend Fiona convinces her to rummage through her uncle's antique shop to find decor to fill her sparse home. But instead of the sought after beach treasures, they discover clues to a long ago unsolved mystery in the small town.
Coupled with the recent murder of a distillery owner, their investigation into the ancient family feud reveals shocking lies, sabotage, and the ultimate revenge. As they get deeper into the town’s historical secrets, they discover a stink they can’t ignore. Can Tilly’s budding friendship bloom into a dynamic duo of crime solvers in time to save her new friend from going to jail?
What do you think? What are you sharing today?
That beginning is a great description. It lets me know a lot about the room and the character.
ReplyDeleteSounds like my kind of cozy! Here's my post: BOOKISH FRIDAY
ReplyDeleteThe Firday56 quote seems pretty obvious. If we had a murderer for a friend I think we'd all be devastated. Ha!
