The Weekend Review - September 14th-16th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to Stacking the Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

Hard to believe we are in the middle of September, but here we are.  Here, the weather continues to be hot and humid with thunderstorms almost every day.

I managed to finish two books this week.  Both were good ones.  I'm really behind on my Goodreads challenge though...not even close.  I'm, once again, blaming health issues which started at the beginning of the year.  So, I was behind early on and have never been able to catch up.  The good news is that I still have three months to go so maybe I'll still make it.  We'll see.  Whatever happens, I plan to do it again next year and I'm not lowering my numbers.

As for what I'm watching, I'm still binging on The Ark and Dallas.  The new TV season begins soon so I guess my DVR will be recording again.  I'm not really paying attention to what the schedule is, and I'll watch when I can.

Other than that, it has been quiet here.  How was your week?  I hope everyone has a great upcoming week!

  3. We were worried about the storm in the Gulf, but then it turns a bit and missed us. We are headed back to our hot and humid weather this next week. Sigh.

I hope you are able to meet your goal this year. You certainly did well this week toward meeting it.

  6. As long as you are reading, you are winning! A goal is nice, but it's not the end all to be all. Enjoy what you are able to read and don't worry about the rest. Have a great week!

  7. I really enjoyed We Solve Murders. I don't watch much tv but I made a watchlist for Disney+ since our trial subscription at a low price ends in November. I don't know if I'll get to it though. Our weather has been great with north winds. This week though is likely to have some rain each day.

  9. I'm reading an ARC of Murder on the Page right now and really enjoying it. I've had some setbacks this year as well, mostly in the summer. We do the best we can. I hope you're enjoying what you have been able to read. Have a great week. :)

  13. Hopefully the next 3 months will provide you with more reading time. A challenge is just that and we can keep our aims high knowing sometimes we don't hit the bulls eye but still in the hunt.

  16. Oh, I think I've read Gluten-Free Murder because I got it as an ebook deal one time. I think I liked it, but honestly don't remember it!

  18. I was excited to see We Solve Murders on your list here today. I've been wanting to read it for a while, but it wasn't available at any of my libraries. I was reminded to check and whoopee! it's now there. Of course, it will be a long wait before I actually get the book (I'm number 16) but at least I know it is coming.
