My Review
Amanda Warren and her friend Ben head to Canada for a glamping getaway. They travel in Amanda’s dog grooming van. They never expected to find an uninvited guest. Amanda’s psychic cat, Grok, stows away with them. It doesn’t take long for their relaxing glamping vacation to turn into a murder investigation.
This is a novella and the first I ever read in the Amanda Warren Cozy Animal Mystery series. Amanda and Grok won me over immediately. I still have to get to know Ben better, but he does have potential. It’s a quickie mystery which even includes a stray Yorkshire terrier who looks at Grok for protection, much to Grok’s dismay and disgust. There are many laughs mixed in with the mystery.
The ending caught me by surprise. Although this is a short story, there is quite a bit of action packed into it. Plus, we have a cat who can speak to his human. No one else can hear him, but she can. I love stories with talking cats. It made for a fun couple of hours of adventure. I look forward to reading more of this series.
