Returning from Mexico!

Hi Everyone!

I've been away for a week celebrating our 24th wedding anniversary in Mexico. We had an amazing time and I'll post pictures in a few days.

I'm going to take a break from memes this week to catch up on some reviews I want to write and post of books I read awhile I was away. I actually read books for enjoyment and not any scheduled reviews. It was fun.

After I catch up on writing these reviews, I'll get back to posting memes.

Thanks to all for the pre-Blogiversary wishes. This has been a great experience and I love getting to know all my new blog friends.

This story mixes adventure, suspense and romance into one captivating story. The addition of Julia’s parents’ romance makes a nice backdrop to the mystery surrounding the hidden treasure. Readers will be enchanted by the entire family, as well as gripped by the terror inflicted on them by the bad guys.

I do hope we will visit with the Evans’ family again. They are so enjoyable to get to know.

It's exactly two weeks until until my 3 year blogiversary on May 29th. I can't believe I've been doing this for three years. Where does the time go? I originally got into blogging just to see what it was all about. I never ever expected it to be so time consuming and something I got so involved with.

At the time, I had no idea of book memes/reading challenges or that I'd be participating in them. I had reviewed before - years ago on AOL, so I was familiar with that aspect but I had no idea there was an entire book community out there. Readers and writers of all genres. You can can easily find fellow readers with the same interest.

Then, I find blogs that feature other interests of mine - cats, TV, and movies. Another thing I had no idea was out there. This has been a fun ride and I hope it continues for a long time.

I've met so many wonderful fellow bloggers. I feel as if we are all in one big book club that meets 24/7. This has been a great time and I hope to continue being part of this blogging community for a long time to come.

Tina Fey tells all in this one from her childhood to her days as a Second City and Saturday Night Live writer to her time as one of the stars of the NBC-TV show 30 Rock.

This is the audio version and Tina narrates this herself, complete with her brand of humor laced throughout the entire CD. Thera are even a couple of skits from SNL thrown in.

It makes a huge difference in hearing this in Tina’s own voice. I don’t watch 30 Rock but this book makes me want to. I think she’s a wonderful comedienne and a great writer. Listening to this book really gave me a good feel for what goes on behind the scenes and what actors/writers/directors, etc. are all going through. We may read things in the newspapers, but we don’t really know what’s going on unless we are actually there.

This audio is only five CD’s and I was able to listen to it in only a week – going to and from work. It was a really nice companion and made the commute not seem so bad.
