Musing Mondays - Favorite Reading Spots

If you'd like to join in on Musing Mondays, just click the button above.

This week's question...

Where is your most often used (favorite) reading spot? Do you have more than one? What makes your favorite spot just that?

Share pictures if you have them!

My answer...

The bedroom, curled up in my bed. That's my favorite spot. One of my cats will usually curl up with me, it's quiet, and the only problem is - sometimes I get so comfy I fall asleep (not a knock against the book, just that I'm so comfortable and in the right position for sleep. LOL)

Here's a picture of the infamous Socrates trapped in my TBR guest room.

Executive Retention Cover Poll at Bear Mountain Books

Announcement:

It's time!!! Author Maria E. Schneider has announced the sequel to Executive Lunch--but Executive Retention needs a cover! Executive Retention is the second book in the Sedona O'Hala series. Three covers are available over at www.BearMountainBooks.com Stop over and vote for your favorite cover.

Executive Retention Summary:

After solving one case of corporate crime, Sedona expected to get her peaceful life back. Problem: She is still a manager at Strandfrost, and there is still rampant jealousy over her promotion. Is the danger of being railroaded by her not-so-illustrious colleagues worse than taking a new undercover job from Steve Huntington?

Crooks are coming out of the woodwork and family troubles are stewing. Sedona needs to keep her sanity intact, piece together mismatched clues and dodge more than one stray bullet. If she can manage all of that, maybe she'll have time to figure out whether her love life stands a chance.

Executive Retention will be available in ebook form on Amazon on or around June 23, 2010. It will be available at Smashwords.com in formats for other readers and then available at B&N, Sony, Kobobooks and Apple iStore soon after.

Review and early copies are available exclusively via Smashwords.com. Excerpts are available at the author's blog: www.BearMountainBooks.com. Stop by www.BearMountainBooks.com and help choose the cover for Executive Retention!

Sunday Salon - Vacation Blues and May Wrap Up

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, just click the button above.

I just returned from a wonderful week in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic with my husband. Great weather, beautiful scenery and very romantic. Now I'm home and it's back to reality. That's the bad thing about going on vacation, the returning part. I still have off tomorrow and don't go back to work until Tuesday, so that's nice.

I managed to finish three books on my handy-dandy Nook while I was on vacation. I read Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, The 8th Confession by James Patterson and Stranger in Town by Kerry Connor (Harlequin Intrigue). I'll have reviews on them all later in the week.

As for May, I did pretty good...8 books completed...

Mr. Darcy Broke My Heart by Beth Pattillo (Loved this one!)
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer (audio - it was okay)
Making the Rounds with Oscar by David Dosa, MD (Good, touching)
Living Dead in Dallas by Charlaine Harris (Good)
Step on A Crack by James Patterson (audio - Very good)
7th Heaven by James Patterson (Very good)
Never Let You Go by Erin Healy (very good)
Bobby & Jackie: A Love Story by C. David Heyman (audio - okay)

I'm off to finish doing a ton of laundry...another drawback of vacations, but I wouldn't give any of it up :)
