The Weekend Review - February 9th-11th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now a Facebook group.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Weekend!

Our weather has been pretty nice this week.  A little chilly, but sunny.  They are saying there's a possibility of snow next week.  We'll see.  We've been pretty lucky and haven't had too much snow this season.

This was the first full week at my new job and it's pretty much been taking up all my time.  I'm not getting much reading in and I wasn't able to keep up with the Tuesday and Friday weekly memes.  Hopefully I can get back on track soon.  Fortunately, I had already scheduled posts for some of my upcoming blog tours and I'm going to try and pre-schedule others for this week too.  I will try and make time for commenting as well.

I did manage to get some Kindle freebies.  I don't know when I think I'll have time to read them.  LOL

I am trying to listen to a cozy mystery on audio to and from work, but I get too distracted.  Maybe I need a non-fiction book to listen to.  Anyone have any suggestions?

I hope you all have a great week!  Happy Valentine's Day!

Yvonne

  4. I am sure your new job is encroaching upon your reading life, but that's okay, right? I got so much happiness from my job, though it cut into my reading time deeply.

    1. We were hoping to downsize and move to Florida but it's taking longer than we expected. I still have a few years to go before I can officially retire.

  6. Ooh, Corned Beef and Casualties makes me think of St. Patrick's Day and the delicious food of that holiday.

I hope you enjoy The Suspect.

I didn't blog until after I retired, so when I was working, I read one or two books a week, and didn't review them. Things are different now.

I'm surprised you are able to keep up with all you do.

Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  9. Good luck with the new job. I think it just takes practice to focus on audiobooks. Also if you choose something riveting like a thriller it may be easier to get absorbed. Anne - Books of My Heart

  16. Any kind of transition completely knocks my reading on its side so I imagine a new job would kind of kill it! I enjoyed Corned Beef and Casualties though I'm hoping for a full length novel in that series soon! Have a great week!
