The Weekend Review - May 18th-20th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Weekend!

The weather is absolutely beautiful here.  It's starting to put me in a summery mood.  I feel like we're just going to skip over spring and get to summer.   I'm okay with that :)

I managed to actually finish reading a book this week, after not finishing one last week.  I'm back to my cozy mystery genre and I guess it got me back into a reading mode.  It's still hit or miss for me as far as the book memes.  I'm doing what I can for now, but not as much as I used to.

I'm also still catching up on the TV shows on my DVR.  I'm thankful it's the end of the TV season because it's giving me a chance to catch up.  I did watch the finales of Survivor and The Big Bang Theory this week.  I was disappointed in Survivor, but I loved The Big Bang Theory.  I'm going to miss that show.  Their series finale was very well written, IMO.

Not too much going on around here.  I need to schedule some posts for June and get a head start.  I hope you all have a great week!

Yvonne

Here are this week's Kindle freebie haul. They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying. The prices change quickly.  Not too many this week.

These books are coming up for reviews and/or blog tours in the next couple of months:

  1. I also watched the season finale of Survivor and the series finale of The Big Bang Theory. I wanted Rick Devens to win, he survived so many Tribal Councils and played a great game! Chris on the other hand only played 11 or 12 days.

  2. Glad you found something to get you out of your slump. I’m planning to bingewatch the last season of the Big Bang, I’m sad to see it end too.

    Have a great reading week

  4. I loved the finale for Big Bang, too. I have enjoyed all the characters on BB, with their deep flaws, and I have enjoyed seeing how the characters have grown and developed over the years.

Happy you are not slumping any more. Cozy mysteries are perfect for getting out of a slump, I think.

    Have a great reading week!

  8. We were getting into a summery vibe, but yesterday evening there was a massive thunderstorm here and now it's overcast and misty. Feels like autumn already arrived!

  11. Glad you have your reading mojo back and a fave genre sure helps with that. TV shows ramp down, book publishing ramps up in summer I find.
