The Weekend Review - June 29th - July 1st

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Weekend!

I'm finally feeling 100% better after getting rid of bronchitis.  It knocked me out for a couple of weeks, but now I'm back to normal.  I'm reading a bit more and limiting my blog time to mainly spotlights and reviews.  This will probably be throughout the summer and then I'll eventually get back to my regular blogging.  For now, this suits me.

I love all the books on my TBR.  While I'm still loving my cozy mysteries, I'm also enjoying romantic comedies.  I love that relaxing feeling I get when reading them.  Cozies and romances are my "go to" genres and I'm loving them.

I haven't really been watching much TV or movies.  I have been watching the new show Grand Hotel and the HBO show Big Little Lies, but that's about it.  Mainly, I feel more like reading than watching.  Not a bad thing at all.

This is July 4th week in the United States.  If you are celebrating, I hope you all have a lovely holiday.  I probably won't be doing anything special, just staying home.  I like being with my cats while the fireworks are going off.

I hope everyone has a great week!

Yvonne

  1. So how is Grand Hotel? My wife has watched some of the other incarnations of the show and I know she'd be interested in hearing what you thought.

    1. Grand Hotel is okay. It's too soon to really say how it's going to be but it's not something I am running to watch the next episode. It's just okay, so far.

  2. I bet it's awful when fireworks go off around cats or dogs. It's too scary for them. It's too scary for me, honestly.

I'm glad you are feeling back to normal. Bronchitis can linger.

I always like reading more than tv. I've been especially frustrated with tv lately. It seems either too violent or simply too vulgar for me.

    Have a great week!

  4. I cut back on posts during the summer too. Especially reviews. It's such a busy time of year and I squeeze in all the down time I can. Enjoy your time off:)

  5. Glad you are feeling better. I prefer to be home with my kitties on the 4th too- and pretty much every day. XO

  6. Glad you've recovered from the bronchitis. Hopefully the 4th of July fireworks don't terrorise your cats too much.

  7. I’m binging on Grimm at the moment. I have the HeartKeeper on my reading list this week, I hope it’s good

Have a great reading week, and happy 4th July

  8. I am so glad to hear you're back to full health, Yvonne; that bronchitis was awful.

I saw the first series on Big Little Lies but haven't watched any of this new season.

I've been enjoying the ARCs I've read but haven't been a part of a blog tour for ages, perhaps I should look back into it. ;-)

Hope you have a great week and enjoy your reads.
